*Breaking* news… but not too broken we hope.  Natalie Gumede is suffering with sciatica and a compressed disc in her back after an old injury resurfaced this week.
Natalie, who is currently at the top of the Strictly leader board with 36 points, has had to miss two days of training to fit in an MRI scan yesterday and physio treatment this morning.  Although she and her dance partner Artem Chigvintsev haven’t had as long to rehearse, Natalie is determined to still dance on Saturday night.
We’ll keep you posted on developments as and when they happen, but in the meantime, we wish Natalie a very speedy recovery.

The news about Natalie's back is a real D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R!
Not sure what a medical doctor can say, short of suggesting that the injured area is given a rest and to take some anti-inflammatory and analgesics. However, a good physiotherapist expert on back injuries may well be best suited to treating the ghastly injury. If Natalie is prepared to visit the best physiotherapist in the world, she will need to come up to the Chemist in Letham, Angus and have this seen to if she is to get better very soon. He will fix her just like he has fixed severe injuries in many of us from the oil rig industry. Get better soon Natalie, you are the most naturally talented dancer of this year's context.

Natalie, so sorry to hear about your injury on Tuesday. Look after the back, rest is good but also Physio will help if the doctor says OK after your scan. I am routing for you to be the trooper you are and let the show go on. However, if you cannot make Saturday I am sure Artem would not jeopardise your health unnessessarily. I just remember him in Blackpool with his neck problem and with loads of painkillers was able to perform on the night. I will keep all crossed for you that we see you back in Artem's arms for the quickstep.

Hope you get well soon and are back dancing but please, please, please don't risk long term injury and permanent pain just for the sake of this show.

Smart idea would be to dance this week as you have a routine prepared, all be it not fully practiced and with the help of steroids. Then have next week off & free of any training and get a good 7 days to recover.

Take care of your back I know how painful disc problems are. If you havent already try a tens machine in conjunction with your other treatment it may just help with the pain. Wishing you a speedy recovery Natalie.

Natalie, I am a Physio in Galway,Ireland and I have been developing a new technique to help a problem just like yours. I have resolved these kinds of problems in one treatment session. I can train the strictly Physios in this technique. You will be ready to dance tomorrow evening-pain free!

Hope you are able to dance this week. I have been looking forward to your quickstep with Artem as I think it could be the 'dance of the series'.

I hate to be the first to burst this bubble but is this not a kind of poetic justice. Natalie is indeed an exceptional dancer and has been before the 'off'. However I do doubt her wisdom in agreeing to take part in what is essentially a show about people learning to dance. She will never find favour with the majority of viewers because of her previous experience, whatever genre of dance that may have been. At the end of the day it is still experience and gives a person an immediate advantage. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BBC...no more celebs like this. It only engenders dissention with Joe Public, as was the case last year with Denise. The thing is, at the end of the day, a ;lot of viewers will just see celebs like Natalie as trophy hunters with their beady eye on the prize from the outset. Then, when the public dare to comment about their previous ability (again, as with Denise) lo and behold...an injury which miraculously sorts itself JUST IN TIME for Saturday night. Now only the bosses at the beeb can put an end to this nonsense year after year. My sympathies for Natalie as she is going to take this flack right up til the final. Yes she will get there because the judges won't ever vote her off...but she won't win.
