Tonight Vanessa Feltz became the first female celebrity to leave Strictly in 2013. In a themed week celebrating romance, passion and attraction, sadly there wasn't much love shown to our Radio 2 presenter from the Judges. Facing fashion designer Julien MacDonald in his second Dance Off of the series, he was once again unanimously saved. Leaving a broken hearted Vanessa bowing out of the competition.

Reflecting back on her Strictly journey she said "I will miss everything, especially James and dancing, the glamour, the sequins and the fun of it all. Thank you very much indeed for having me, it’s been a lovely lovely time.”

Watch our EXCLUSIVE interview with Vanessa as she and her fellow celebrities look back on the night's events. Then tune-in to It Takes Two at 6.30pm on Monday as she joins Zoe on the sofa with James.

We watched this verdict in sheer disbelief. Vanessa's tango wasn't the greatest in the world - she kept looking the wrong way and had to be hauled around a couple of times. But julian's jive was absolutely appalling - kicks and arm movements totally out of time and all really rather at sea. The man just has no feel for the music. And Vanessa, much as I loathe her ego and refusal to accept honest criticism, does have that feel.

I can only speculate she really got up the judges' noses with her refusal to listen to Craig. But then again, if that were true, I'm not entirely sure I'd blame them.

Meanwhile, why is Natalie on the show as a contestant and not as a pro? Just watch her head movements in the spins or her ballet moves. She could well become another Denise only more so and start finding top-rated dances down there in the dance-off. Which is hard lines on the other couple, whoever they may be. BBC - no pro's as contestants please!

@comment 129. True things might have been different that year if john sergeant had left the show via the dance off.
@comment 135 it weird seen Anton dancing with another pro because we were so used to Erin dancing with him.

Hi Strictly 22. A lot of people are upset that Julien survived as they feel he was rubbish and worse than Vanessa in the dance off - something which will clearly divide opinion but I think there is still a bit of ill feeling toward following his PR blunder last week when he over zealously celebrated being saved by the judges at the expense of Tony. It was nice to see he had learnt his lesson though when he survived this time

Was it just me or did anyone else notice zero eye contact between Ola and James when they were presented with their anniversary cake?

No point worrying about Dave staying in and other "good" dancers being voted off yet. There are still some not-so-good dancers that are also likely to go if they do not show an improvement.
On the Natalie front - she does dance beautifully and it would appear that she has not only had training, but advertised herself on her CV as a professional dancer. But Denise did not win last year, even though she was probably the best dancer in the final.
History shows that the celebs who improve most are generally the ones that get the votes and that is what most of us watch for - to see how someone with almost 2 left feet can become a real dancer. You only have to read the boards this week to see how everyone is rooting for Ben who made a fantastic improvement.
On a related but different topic - was anyone noting the voting because it seemed to me that the only paddle Len had in his possession this week was the dreaded 7.

Totally agree with Granannieflo. We should all vote for improved performances - Julien definitely improved more in the dance off. I luv Julien but sad to say he will not be in the final. I think Ashley & Sophie & Susannah should be in the top 3 although Natalie will def be there - I think she is a top dancer but am not feeling it the same way as with Ashley & Sophie who are just so down to earth and great fun. Luv Ben too. Fave professionals are Anton (for ballroom) Artem (for Latin) .

Dave, the Hairy Biker should go next, but if Len keeps saying 'he is the peoples favourite' some idiots will keep voting for him and yet again a good dancer will be voted off. The judges should not say things that may influence the viewers. Some of us want it to be a dance competition!
