Last night's Halloween special didn't fail to impress, with some fang-tastic performances, killer routines and one or two howlers.

Natalie and Artem held onto the top spot on the Leaderboard, getting the first tens of the series, scoring them an incredible 38 points for their Viennese Waltz.

Sophie and Brendan dropped from joint fourth from the top to joint third from the bottom after their Jive with the Bruno claiming, “I think you had a bit too much blood my darling, you became a bit heavy and leggy.”

Ben wowed the nation, performing an impressive Paso Doble, and left the Strictly audience silently thanking the wardrobe department for forgetting to put a top on him...

Languishing at the bottom of the leaderboard are Dave and Karen, who scored a measly 19 for their Jive, with Len commenting, “Last week's Salsa was scary. This one frightened the life out of me honestly.”

Who will sail through to next week, and who will find themselves in the hellish Dance-Off?  Watch along with us from 7.20pm and leave your comments below.

    @634/635

The point of any show of this type is to make a platform for a small group of people who the channel feels are qualified (?) to judge others performances. Be it SCD, X Factor or Dancing on Ice, there is always a 'nice' one, a 'softtie' a 'ditherer' & of course a 'nasty' one. It's a stock in trade idea & it has been proven to work in terms of viewer numbers.
Where SCD scores is in the fact that ALL the judges have ample qualifications to judge a dance competition, so their opinions are valid. Unlike X Factor where frankly only Barlow has any right to comment on whether a singer is good or not.

He's in because he was invited by the BBC and because he is popular. It's easy. The judges can sit and say it's about dancing - well, it isn't, it's about family entertainment. It's a shame he doesn't tick your boxes, but Dave has no reason to feel embarrassed. And it's probably about 0.0000000000000001% of viewers who come on this blog, so perhaps it's the viewers who don't that are voting for him.

As previously said in this thread, the judges long became caricatures of themselves because the program has become popular and certain behaviours are now expected. I'd have a shake up of the judges and get rid of Len and Bruno. Craig has more integrity with Darcey being the most constructive and the one I most listen to. The program has long turned into a farce, so just relax and enjoy the sequins. That's what we do in this house. I think that's Ben's as stiff as a board and hugely over-rated by the judges, others think that Natalie shouldn't be in it as having had professional training. So there you go, we all have our gripes.

Haven't been on the blog for a few years now, but have felt seriously wound up about the Dave should leave stuff. This defeats the object of the program. I would get rid of the judges scores being counted and just keep them to decide the dance off. And to get a 10 for a VW without a reverse fleckerl would have been unthinkable when SCD really was worth watching.

Even if the show is strictly come entertaining rather than strictly come dancing, why is Dave still in?
    He isnt entertaining
    He cannot dance
    He doesnt tick any boxes

By voting Dave in week after week whilst other more deserving and improving dancers leave like Rachael and Deborah, the public are sending Dave the message that he is good, entertaining and liked.
Listening to Dave's comments recently, it is obvious that he believes that he is something remarkable. That he believes he is popular and that he believes himself to be a worthy contestant in strictly.
From his recent comments, he believes he can and is entitled to win the competition. It really has gone to his head. Rather than feel embarrassed that other more deserved dancers leave before him, he believes that he is something special. This is what the public vote for him is doing.
The bbc will like all the publicity true as previously said, so Dave remains in to stir up our annoyance and get us blogging. But if we are all anti Dave then who is viting?

I watch the shows and don't read the papers, so don't know are care about the gossip. Have long since been fed up of trashy music choices and story telling dancers but can't stop the show either!

The show has seriously dumbed down over the past several years, it's not even essential to do a reverse fleckerl (or however you spell it) to get a 10 these days - so does it matter who goes out? If it really was a serious dance competition, there would be no celebs; if there were no celebs, no-one would watch it during prime time Saturday evening TV. From BBC perspective, there's o such thing as bad publicity - the attention is good for viewing figures.

Dave's improving and has had to come from nowhere and some of us appreciate that.

At a recent poppy charity event that several strictly celebs attended Dave was reported as saying that he hopes to reach the strictly final and believes he is doing well and deserves to be there.
He believes he should remain and said he wouldnt leave. He has no intention of giving up and believes he will stay in.
Its as though receiving the public vote has gone to his head and he believes he is so popular.
The under dog is iften vited in by the public just because they are tge under dog, not because tgey are as popular as they believe themselves to be.
Dave believes that it is perfectly okay fir better dances to leave before him.
Did anyone else read his comments recently at tgat poppy charity event?

    show me the votes

@641 sounds a bit like cutting off your nose to spite your face. I just stopped voting when i got miffed. why pay into a scheme when you know it makes no sence. the free computer vote is the only way i vote now. Costs nowt and if it counts nowt, just like aunty betty, i care nowt.

Fully agree with you about dave and Nat. I have mentioned it myself. people are baying for daves blood and fail to see that Nat has improved as much as dave (lets face it she was good at the start and is still good ie no or little improvement).

If you are enjoying SCD sit down and watch it. Pop over and ill bake some fresh bread . above all dont let the people of questionable parentage wind you up.

I agree with the many, many blogs today complaining about the Beeb ignoring the mass of complaints against the voting system. Personally I think the best answer is to switch off and completely boycott the show, but that seems a shame from the point of view of the good dancers still left in Strictly. Another gripe I have is that Natalie should not be on the show at all, as she has professional dancing on her CV, how unfair is that on the celebrities who have never danced before? I have nothing against the girl, but it's quite obvious that she has experience in dance. If I boycott Strictly on Saturday..... good news; I won't have to listen to any more of Bruce's 'jokes', but I shall sorely miss seeing Kevin and Joanna.

    Show us the voting figures!
Oh dear, Dave's on Take 2, I don't like him but I feel so sorry for him. The Beeb are really pushing for him-did anyone else see Breakfast this morning when Natalie & Artem were obviously primed to say how much they liked him, & now other personalities are saying the same - sounds so fixed.

I have to say again, this is a dancing competition as well as an entertainment show, but Dave is an embarrassment and still cannot dance - so please, those of you who are voting for him, think about what you are doing
