With the Strictly Final tantalizingly close, sadly Patrick Robinson failed to make the cut becoming the last casualty of the dreaded Dance Off in 2013. In a semi-final that saw double the dance floor magic with two routines from each couple, Patrick faced fellow actor Natalie Gumede for a chance to make it to the all-important final. With Natalie scoring the second perfect score of the series, the odds were stacked against Patrick who bowed out of the competition with typical grace.

Reflecting on his time on the show he said “I’ve had an incredible journey, an incredible time, what an experience. Anya Garnis is just an incredible dancer, an incredible choreographer.” My highlight really may be a surprise, but being in the training room was the place I had the most fun and the most hard work, so being here was just the icing on the cake.

Watch Patrick, Anya and his fellow celebrities say goodbye in this exclusive clip as we look forward to the FIRST all-female final in Strictly history...

Rubbish on-line voting system-always unavailable due to technical difficulties. Think it's deliberate so we have to make expensive phone calls!!

AS it is the final I wanted just for fun post my thought process to work out who could the winner,

WARNING this is just MY OPINION NOT FACT:

    POSITIVE:
    Most consistant - Natalie
    Most improved- Abbey
    Most elegent- Sofie
    Fun to watch-Susanna

    NEGATIVE
Been in the dance off - Natalie-Abbey
Been in the bottom two twice -Susanna
least amount of 10s - Sofie

So the winner is ....... MARK and Ivete MC hammer routine:
    A) for being the most entertaining dance of the series
    B) even though I cant remember what the official dance was supposed to be he danced what he did really well.
    C) great chemistry between him and Ivete
    D) what a lovley down to earth guy with great personality.

Any way enjoy the final everyone and keep dancing

So the day of the final. It is going to be a fight to the end. I feel that the dancers with the most personality on the night will win. There is no doubt Natalie is a very good dancer, but seeing her on ITT she has by no means progressed in the competition as the other three have. She was always predictable an did not seem to have the flair the others have. I still cannot fathom how she can do lifts etc with a so called back problem, she would be in agony and for sure she does not show any. The best will win in the end I am sure.

328 Reginella & 330 davef77 I think dave is saying the same as I am. Maybe in different way.
You either vote for your favourite, or, you vote for who you think is the best dancer. The point I was trying to make is that it is not up to others to tell everyone to vote for the best dancers. We are free to vote which ever way we want to. I doubt if Abbey fans would vote for Natalie if she performed a better dance. etc. Myself, I want the couple who entertains me the most.

    Re 181 Andrew Bowyer

Can I firstly say that I do not for a second think that FOSO is employed by the BBC, just someone who seems genuinely interested in the content that is posted and who comments honestly to what is written.

The most interesting part of Andrew Bowyer's post is that he finishes with 'We are all entitled to our opinions whether they agree with yours or not, so please show some respect', who is that respect aimed at? Certainly not at the celebrities who, apart from a small number of blogs, have been treated with anything but respect. It seems to be aimed at all those writers of posts who have been downright rude to begin with. OK for them to be rude and disrepectful but woe betide anyone who returns the complement. Respect has to be earned, apart from a few notable exceptions, there are few examples of that on these pages.

Their is a section of the public, in my opinion, who will vote for their out and out favourite; another section will vote for who THEY think is the best dancer technically, not who the judges think and another section will vote for whoever they think deserves to win. In the latter section this does not mean that it has to be the best dancer overall. From these subtle differences we will end up with the winner the majority of the viewing public want. End of story.

@ kinwar, what is wrong with voting for the one who dances best on the night. seems that you are a little defensive if you mean as you state your favorite is the best dancer why did you remark that "'its not for anyone to say vote for the best dancer and not your favorite"' sounds odd

    @ 323. InOlawetrust - Chris Hollins

In the final, based on the judges scores (all 5 of them) Ricky won two of the dances (Ballroom and Show Dance) and Chris won two of the dances (Lindy Hop and Latin). Their overall points totals were Ricky 190, Chris 186. And my memory of the show dance was that Ricky did some technical stuff, that was apparently very difficult and which the judges liked, but that Chris' show dance looked difficult and was visually more appealing, especially to the untrained eye.

So even if you think that Ricky should have won, you cannot reasonably say that Chris Hollins was no good. On the night it was very evenly balanced between the two. Ricky had been the better dancer throughout the series but Chris, who had started as a no hoper, had progressed the most.

I started watching the programme expecting to vote for Ricky and ended up voting for Chris and it had absolutely nothing to do with him being a BBC presenter.

Below is a link to the Ultimate Strictly page for that final - if anyone wants to look in more detail.
