It’s been emotional! Tonight Deborah Meaden and Robin Windsor left the competition in a tense Results Show that saw the Dragon face an injured Patrick Robinson in the Dance Off. Conjuring up her fighting spirit, Deborah put in a gutsy performance as she and Robin took to the floor for her boardroom-inspired Viennese Waltz. With the Judges making a unanimous decision to save the Casualty star, Deborah saw her Strictly dreams shattered.

Talking to Tess a clearly emotional Deborah said “I can’t tell you. Strictly gave me a gift but the big gift that Strictly gave me was this guy. To teach me to dance, to find something I never even knew I could do and to make it the best. He’s wonderful. There’s going to be tears. No, I’m a dragon, there’ll be no tears.”

But there were tears later as Deborah’s fellow celebrities shared their dismay at her departure in our exclusive clip…

We say a tearful farewell as the Dragon returns to her den.

Why is there not more enthusiasm for Natalie? She is, by far, the best dancer.

At least give Deborah a slot on the Strictly Come Dancing Tour to compensate for this injustice.

Very sorry to see them exit the competition, they were dancing very well & certainly we're not the worst in the show!

Deborah, I hope you can still watch the show, you will be missed, you are a fantastic dancer, you should not have been in the dance off, ridiculous

I'm very sorry to see Deborah go, as she had worked hard and made massive progress. I had hoped to see a slightly older woman stay in a little longer! However, this is not just a dance competition, it is a light-hearted family entertainment show and the voting public are showing their support for Dave Myers who has also worked incredibly hard and made progress in his dancing, even if strictly speaking he is far from the best dancer! Obviously, in a specialist competition all the results would be different. Let's not use this space to be unpleasant about other people and just enjoy the fantasy world of SCD.

Fair point jacqui702 (comment 296). I certainly agree that as soon as Dave is in the dance off he will get booted off but the big question is when that will be.

The problem Dave has is that before last weeks show there was still another awful dancer in there like Julien, Vanessa or Tony to take the spotlight away from his own survival. Once Julien went 2 weeks ago that luxury vanished so every week he is in he needs to justify his survival and okay if Rachel had gone rather than Deborah the criticism probably wouldn't have been so fierce as she was 2nd from bottom with a mere 22 for her Paso Doble. I am a bit nervous about tomorrow nights show actually because Halloween specials over the past 3 series have seen the pros get too caught up in the Halloween spirit and sacrifice dance content for story telling which might work in Daves favour

So sorry you had to go Deborah. I have to say after so many years you would think people had caught onto the idea that its a dance competition not a comedy show competition. I can hardly bare to watch Dave, he has no musicality and no sense of rhythm. It seems so unfair that better dancers have to leave the show in his place. He is a nice guy but not a dancer and it really is time he went.

Well Robin was a beneficiary of the "fun factor" last year when Lisa sailed into the semis on her mixture of big smiles, jazz hands and barely moving her feet while the much better dancers Denise and Nicky had to face the dreaded dance off, so he knows what he's talking about.

Just one more thing, then I'll (finally) shut up. Excerpt from an interview with Robin Windsor:

Interviewer: What normally happens after a shock exit is that the voting rights itself and the person that should have gone, goes the following week…

Robin: Exactly! It’s all down to the British public now who they want to keep. It’s not about necessarily keeping the best dancer; it’s about keeping their favourites. Whoever that may be I urge everyone to pick up the phone or vote online for their favourite.

So there you have it. Goodnight!
