After an intense night that saw our couples perform not one, but two dances in a bid to secure a place in next week’s Final, it was sadly the end of the road for Lisa Riley as she faced her fears and fellow contender Denise Van Outen in the dreaded Dance-Off. Both couples performed their highest scoring dance from Saturday night but sadly, Lisa’s performance wasn’t enough to save her a space in next week’s Final as the Judges unanimously voted to save Denise.

An emotional Lisa broke down in tears alongside Robin as she joined Tess and delivered her departing words, as the Judges and audience gave them both a standing ovation.

“It’s been the best time of my entire life, I can’t thank you enough. From the costume to the makeup, everybody backstage is just beyond belief, and all the judges, I’ve had the time of my life. And one person has made that and that’s Robin Windsor. He has just been amazing.”

The couple vowed to keep dancing together, before taking to the floor for one last time, in one of the most emotional exits Strictly has ever seen.

Find out what some of our couples thought of Lisa’s departure:

Next Saturday will see our remaining couples, Kimberley and Pasha, Louis and Flavia, Denise and James and Dani and Vincent dance the performance of their lifetime as only one couple will be crowned the King/Queen on the dancefloor. Who will it be? Let us know your thoughts.

Strictly Final is on the 22nd of December, BBC One at 18:30. The results show will be on at 20:50. Until then, keeeeeep dancing!

She should have been out in week one.

Well, it wasn't a surprise! She could do the dances like the salsa, but they don't count those as dances, so! And she could not do the tango or the waltz, she was hopeless and it was about time for her to go. If this was up to me she would of gone in the first two weeks, she had her mojo in the first week, but in week two her mojo had disappeared and why cry when voted out?!

dnorm24, good lord no, the last thing Strictly needs is the judges deciding the winner! The whole idea behind the show is viewers voting; from weans to great-grannies, vote for your favourites on this magical not too serious dance-based jolly! Why, there were cries of 'off with their heads' a few years back when viewers' votes couldn't save their fauvorite, Tom Chambers, from the judges axe! Well, actually, we did! Massive flood of complaints between parts 1 and 2 of the final and and Tom is reinstated, the show-dances follow, the viewers vote and Tom Chambers wins!! From thence and for all time the viewers only will decide the winner, and rightly so! Power to the people means a true Peoples' Champion!

In reply to No 20 I asked the BBc why we could not see the phone votes because of the past fixes. I just got a load of bull about votes could be fixed if we knew the percentages. How this can be as when the results are known the voting has finished. I was also told it was independantly verified but they would not say by whom and if he worked for the BBC. One has to wonder about the voting as Lisa may be fat and funny but she can't dance and good ones got knocked out. I asked the BBC if they are keeping non dancers like Lisa in but got know reply

Could we please enjoy the dancing and stop the moaning about who did this and who did that!!!!
All four have stood up and worked to get were they are , if you have been really watching you would have noticed that Dani has improved every single week, Kimberley is a good second and Denise has never really dropped her standard through out the series. Loius has been up and down. But all deserve to be in the final no matter what dancing experience they have.
It should be left now to the judges , not a public vote then the best dancer will win not whoever the public like at the time.

SBDM@180, thanks, I will enjoy the Final as I have every Strictly show from the beginning; I supportf Lesley Garrett and Anton who lost out in semi to a total plonker from Eastenders! I'll be supporting the smurfs on Saturday, but expect team pasherly to win.
I do enjoy the banter on the blogs and as lomg as no-one gets abusive or takes things personally its fine. Usually I reserve my ire for CRH! Anyway, enjoy the Final and the Xmas Special, and may you and yours have a Happy and Peaceful Christmas.

Wasn't Mr Blobby actually an out of work Shakespearean actor? He'd be getting on a bit now but he might be fun.

Is there any truth in the rumour that next year's Strictly will include Mr Blobby?

gorscot@178. I thought maybe that as we'd reached the final you had given it a rest, but alas no! :)

What you call "protestations" I call answering questions honestly. If she is challenged with a question about all the dancing she did in Chicago, is she not allowed to point out that the role of Roxie Hart actually doesn't involve much dancing at all - a bit at the end and that's it? Or should she lie, or say something like "no comment"? Is she not allowed to defend herself? Not that I've heard all the "protestations" that everyone else seems to heard or read.

As for her previous individual training - how do you know this? Were you her trainer? How much training did she get - 10 minutes to get her through a specific routine 20 years ago? Six months at the Royal Ballet School earlier this year?

Anyway, you needn't worry. You will not be subjected to the horror of having to see Denise dance her jive on Saturday (THE dance of the series in my opinion). She will be the first to be booted out, but at least we will get to see her showdance, which I have high hopes for.

    Enjoy the show!

If someone has already mentioned this on any blog.....apologies

    Denise will not win SCD
The reason the producers changed the format of the Final to 4 pairs instead of the normal 3 pairs is surely because they knew, through the public vote in recent weeks, that Denise would have been voted out of the usual "double elimination" at the Semi-Final stage !!!!

Might be wrong, but why tell us at such a late stage?

Especially looking forward to the Show Dances

    M :-) xxx
