Strictly Final 2013: Music and Routines Revealed

Strictly web team

Christmas is nearly here, which can only mean one thing... it’s the Strictly Final this weekend! So make sure that on Saturday you put down those heavy, panic-buy filled shopping bags, and get yourself on the sofa in time for 6.30pm when you can stop worrying about what to get Great Aunt Doris and immerse yourself in the glittery joy of the Strictly Final instead.

And what a Final it will be, because for the first time ever, it’s an all-female line-up. This week Abbey, Natalie, Sophie and Susanna will be upping their game as they each perform a former dance picked by the Judges and a showdance. The four couples will then have a bit of time to catch their breath before we are back on screen at 8.40pm for the Results Show. One couple will be voted out of the competition and the final three will go on to dance their favourite routine from the series. Take a look below to see which routines have been chosen and what songs they’ll be performing them to:

Abbey and Aljaz:
Judges’ Choice: The Waltz to “Kissing You” by Des’ree.
Showdance: “Sweet Child of Mine” by Guns N Roses
Couples’ Favourite: The Quickstep to “Walking On Sunshine” by Katrina and the Waves

Natalie and Artem:
Judges’ Choice: The Cha Cha to Boney M’s “Rasputin”
Showdance: “Steppin’ Out with My Baby” by Christina Aguilera and Tony Bennett
Couples’ Favourite: American Smooth to Jennifer Hudson’s “And I’m Telling You, I’m Not Going”

Sophie and Brendan:
Judges’ Choice: Viennese Waltz to “My Favourite Things” by Julie Andrews
Showdance: “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” by Whitney Houston
Couples’ Favourite: The Charleston to “Rock It For Me” by Caravan Palace

Susanna and Kevin:
Judges’ Choice: The Quickstep to Tommy Steele’s “Good Morning”
Showdance: “Your Song” by Ewan MacGregor
Couples’ Favourite: The Paso Doble to Carmen’s “Los Toreadors”

What do you think of their song and dance choices? Let us know in the comments below:

I still think the Producers should be careful about the music they choose for the dances particularly the Latin dances. One of the judges commenting on Susana's Paso Doble mentioned that the whole routine was "complete" including, yes, the music, a classic Spanish tune. Latin dancing and modern rock music just don't go together at all and dances are, as the judge said, incomplete. So, stop the experimenting and please go back to traditional music to keep the whole thing "complete".

Lets all hope that this years winner is NOT someone who is a trained dancer, but is someone who has actually learned to dance for the first time during this series. Isn't that what it is supposed to be about?

Natalie is a good dancer, but is so big headed and arrogant with it. Where Susanna, Sophie and Abbey are natural and real.

First time I've contributed but just felt I had to. This series has been enormously entertaining and I congratulate all those who have contributed - the presenters (although I do have to admit I find Tess increasingly irritating), the band and singers, costumes - well done Vicky and team, make- up has been amazing, and all the back room lighting, sound etc. etc.. All the contestants who have been knocked out, you've all been very entertaining (Mark you were brilliant). Comments about Bruce are insulting - hope those who have slated him are as active and entertaining as he is when you get to his age. Zoe you have done a cracking job on It Takes Two - those heels ........ The judges .. well they don't get a say tomorrow but have done a damned good job so far, and Abraham Lincoln was right, the final result won't please everybody. Good luck to all - you've worked so very hard to get here, but Sophie........... you're my favourite xxx

I am in total support of both Natalie and Sophie, but my vote will really depend on which dance is the "best" (most inspiring, most moving etc). Though, to be honest, if she dances as well as she has been, I will be voting for Sophie. Firstly, because I want to see her Charleston again and secondly, voting for Natalie is pretty much a lost cause (though she's a sweetheart), and if Sophie is going to have any chance against all of Susanna's and Abbey's fans, then she's probably going to need all five votes.

I am so looking forward to the final..more so, than perhaps, in many a year.

I'll not get to see it on Saturday as I won't be home till the early hours of Sunday morning, but must resist the temptation to watch it until I get up and not try to watch it with heavy lidded eyes, falling asleep, in the middle etc ;O)

I'm particularly looking forward to the show dances.

I'm hoping that Brendan, who's choreography, on the whole, IMO, has been marvellous, this season, comes up with a better routine than he did with Lisa Snowden, some of which was based on the show dance, produced, the week before by Craig Smith & Natalie Woolf, some of which, I don't think worked at all.

I think we have amazing couples in the final.
Although I have my own personal favourites, I am aware that 2 of the couples, are the better dancers.

In the end, I'll not be unhappy, whoever lifts the trophy, it's been a great series..

    Good luck to them all.

    Rich.
    x
