Beep beep, it’s all aboard the bus to Blackpool!

It’s another week of training for our remaining nine couples, as the competition heats up (or rather, gets a little chilly) as Blackpool calls! From seaside Sambas, to coastal Charlestons, our dance partners want to bring you all the fun of the fairground, and bust their best moves at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

They all want to be beside the seaside, but come Sunday, only eight lucky couples will keep their ‘plaice’. The ‘pier’ pressure is on! It’s time for our couples to get ‘shellfish’, dance their socks (with sandals) off, and (hopefully in Steve’s case), show us their ‘mussels’!

Let us know what you make of our couples’ routines this week below.

Judy looked beautiful tonight. Dress was gorgeous. A lovely lady who's dream came true but ended tonight. Well done!

A fantastic show. Congratulations to all involved.

Well I got that wrong !!!!

Sunetra performed the Samba much cleaner 2nd time around and at least Brendans "samba curse" did not happen this time
Both Judy and Anton were very gracious in defeat and a good closing/leaving dance routine that they had clearly been practicing for this moment
Its now going to get tough all round and we shall start seeing who the GBP now want to keep in

Great Production by the BBC tonight

    Didn't they do well

For me personally Simon was the stand out performance but only because to be like that after only starting this week was remarkable. The AT is really difficult, second only to the Rumba, for the man to master and lead well on in a controlled fashion. Even the hold is totally different. Well done to him, as in training I did not think he would be that good...
and Pixie is not bad either
Those were the 2 stand out dances for me closely followed by Frankie, Mark , Caroline and Jake in that order. Just my opinion of course

I fear Sunetra and Steve may well be in the Dance Off

I agree, Toni. 42. No celeb should feel pushed into standing down. That isn't the essence of the show. There have, over the years, been contestants I have really disliked, but I would never have wanted to see any feel they should stand aside in favour of others. It is a form of bullying. To step out and dance in front of an audiance and t.v viewers alike when you know you are not the best must take enormous courage. The show tries to be inclusive of everyone no matter what their ability, colour or size is.

@breatheasy: Brilliant assessment! Agree totally that John S should not have set the precedent of standing down the way he did. It opens the doors to all sorts of problems with the current format. If this were to become a standard process every time, then some dancers would inevitably feel bullied-off, whether they deserved to be off or not. It's all subjective anyway.
I am keeping an open mind about tonight. IF Judy dances well (and she might), then I will vote for her - but have other votes for others. If she dances badly, I will use all my votes elsewhere.

I agree that Judy is trying hard to learn to dance and has had to endure way too much abuse from the judges and some factions of the media and public. She didn't have any training beforehand - like some of them appear to have had and is being gracious under fire....
I would love her to come out dancing really well - and am still hoping for that, but even if she did, I suspect the judges would carry on with the same mantra.

Totally agree with comments 36, 37, 38. It's a good family show, Saturday entertainment. There has always been someone who stays "beyond their time" so to speak, but who cares. No one is losing out on a big money contract. Also I believe you can't underestimate the Anton Factor , I think if Judy had been paired with anyone else she may have been out a while ago, but people love Anton! He is a great entertainer! Let's just enjoy the show!

    Hi all,

BreathEasy@28 and 36 I could not agree more with you regarding the Judygate issue on the blogs here.

All this talk of voting changes, resignations, and posters fuming over better dancers going out is total farce and I am with you BreathEasy because everyone supports the underdog and the harsh judges comments and the complaints on here Judy Murray gets the more the GBP are going to keep her in week after week.

And you do not have to be Sherlock Holmes to realise Strictly is beating the Karaoke show on ITV because it is good wholesome clean fun on Strictly no big prizes, no dance contracts just a Glitterball trophy a family show as opposed to the soap opera that is The X Factor and it is because of the underdog couples that Strictly is popular every week other than that it would just be another boring dance competition and do remember Tumble got axed after 1 series because they did not have that winning combination the best celebrity gymnasts and the underdog below par celebrity gymnasts.

So the moral of the story Judy Murray is a ratings winner for in the Strictly VS X Factor ratings war and I have a feeling Judy and Anton will be safe for another week and I'm going to be picking whose in the bottom two from the next two least impressive dance routines and taking Judy out of the equation.

Will give my final thoughts later
    Keeeeeeeeeeeep Dancing
