Seann Walsh waltzes out of Strictly 2018
He survived a solid six weeks into the competition, but Halloween Week didn't deliver any treats for Seann Walsh as he became the fifth celebrity to bow out of the Ballroom.
The comedian performed a spooky Viennese Waltz on Saturday night, along with his Pro partner Katya Jones. But their routine wasn't enough to impress the Judges, scoring 20/40 and sending them to the bottom of the leaderboard.
Following the public vote, the pair were sent straight into their second Dance-Off of the series - this time facing Graeme Swann and his partner Oti Mabuse. Both couples gave their all in hope of being saved, but all four Judges voted unanimously to keep Graeme in the competition.
When explaining her decision, Judge Darcey Bussell said: “This is always incredibly difficult and both couples made mistakes evenly. But for me, I will choose the couple that had the highest performance value, and that was Graeme and Oti.”
Their fate was sealed before Head Judge Shirley had to place a vote, but she agreed she would've come to the same decision.
Sad to be leaving the competition, Seann told Tess: “When you watch it and hear people at the end say 'this has been the best experience in my life', I don’t think you don’t really believe it, but this has been without a doubt the best experience of my life - probably bar the last few weeks. But generally speaking from the beginning it really was. I can’t believe it, it’s been amazing.”
Katya then shared her thanks with Seann, saying: “It wasn’t easy but thank you for your commitment every single day. It was amazing and I’m so proud of you, from day one when you couldn’t get your right from your left and now delivering dances like that."
They'll definitely be missed in the Ballroom, but you can watch them one last time on It Takes Two, tomorrow night at 6.30pm on BBC Two.
