Post categories:

BBC Eurovision Andrew BBC Eurovision Andrew | 20:00 UK time, Sunday, 21 November 2010

Felicity Kendal and Vincent Simone became the seventh couple to leave this year's contest, ending their Strictly journey in Blackpool's fabulous Tower Ballroom. The couple performed an American Smooth last night but were eliminated from the competition by a combination of the judges' scores and the public vote.

Our web reporter Nikki Dean was there on the dancefloor when the announcement was made, and caught up with a host of Strictly faces for their reactions to the news.  Watch our exclusive video here and let us know your thoughts on tonight's results by leaving a comment below.

    Silence speaks vo9lumes.

  • Comment number 2.

Waiting for all the bitchy anti-Ann comments. Yawn....

  • Comment number 3.

interesting that the yellow peril is always last out to bid farewell to whoever goes out and never joins in with the hugs -- guilty conscience??????????

  • Comment number 4.

Oh come on this is ridiculous she obviously has no self pride being dragged on the floor exposing her knickers! Someone really good is going to leave soon :(

  • Comment number 5.

bring back the dance off please!!!!! what a waste of money it should be called 'Try to Entertain and Dance' the whole purpose is out of the window with those who cannot dance........... if certain individuals make it to the final then the whole series has been a WASTE of OUR money!

  • Comment number 6.

Is this a popularity contest or a dance contest? How does the worst performer (can't use the word "dancer") continue to be chosen by the public?

saffikit, of course there are going to be comments about Ann and rightly so. she was like a sack of potatoes being flung and pushed round the dance floor.
    the joke has to stop!

Andy Pandy I totally agree. If she stays in another week I wont bother watching any more what is the point, it make a farce of the hard work the other celebs are doing! Its not even funny to be honest its embarassing! I love Anton give him a decent dancer if you want him to win!

  • Comment number 12.

This is getting ridiculous now, Ann has got to go. If the audience won't vote her out, she's got to do the decent thing and leave.

  • Comment number 13.

This is meant to be a dance contest and yet Ann stays in. I just do not understand how a couple who are consistently at the bottom of the judges scores continue to remain in. Better dancers are getting eliminated and the show has now lost its credibility.
Something must be wrong if Ann can stay in the contest with a judges score of 13.

  • Comment number 14.

Anne's 'performance' was really farcical with very little effort. It's not fair to the others who are working so hard. The stories & elements of the dances are well known - and she refuses to do them on moral grounds. Fine for her choice - but don't take part in the show then.
Time for us to get on the phones & vote FOR THE EFFORT & THE DANCING.

  • Comment number 15.

What an insult to those who are training so hard and really want to learn to dance. She (who I will not name) should bow out gracefully. This series is becoming a total embarrassment.Week after week talented and hard working dancers leave and SHE stays. How does she live with herself or is it all about the money she can earn on the back of all this??The public, I cannot account for!!

  • Comment number 16.

may be some one should start a website or facebook page to vote for others instead of the yellow canary bird so that she is OUT before any more damage is done!

  • Comment number 17.

No need to bitchy about Ann Widdecombe, she can't dance for toffee and several superior dancers have all gone home while she is still there.

  • Comment number 18.

Come on you Ann "fans" come out of the closet and identify yourselves !! and let us all know what is is about her "dancing" that warrants her being still in the show

  • Comment number 19.

saffikit - message2 - what do you expect? Ann does not have an endearing personality and her dancing is non existent and she looks like a sack of spuds being tossed about. Not fair on the others

  • Comment number 20.

This has to be a fix can't believe people who enjoy and look forward to strictly every year would vote for Anne it doesn't make any sense. She isn't mixing with the others its obvious she is being kept in by the BBC and it stinks!

  • Comment number 21.

I have actually gone to the trouble of registering just to say that if Ann Widdiepaininthebum goes on much further - I will STOP WATCHING STRICTLY - and I have been a huge fan since the very first program. The BBC have to make up their minds whether this is a dance show or an entertainment comedy - if it is the latter, then it really isn't very good and I will be using my remote to find something better to watch. When some of the contenstants have been knocking their socks off trying to dance like professionals, and she lumbers about like a bear with hemorrhoids - and is arrogant with it - it just makes a mockery of both the program and the viewer.

  • Comment number 22.

Hmmm, how is it possible that Ann keeps getting through? Normally she at least tries to dance some of the steps but she censored it this week. Feleicity has actually improved from week 1 instead of getting worse. I can guess that as a woman of her err status that she doesn't want to make it raunchy but she could have at least put bounce into it. I don't think it was fair this week. Even i would try to dance and i am the most self conscious person i know. But obviously the wider public who watch something else while Ann is "performing" so they can't feel the guilt when better dancers go out, have a different opinion of dancing.

  • Comment number 23.

Who is keeping AW in? Not me... First off, she doesn't dance, second off, she refuses to do the required steps. Sorry BBC but if any one of the other dancers refused to do thw 'dance' steps then they would be OUT. So, why is AW still in..?

  • Comment number 24.

Please are the rest of this country totally blind? A joke is a joke but this one is not funny anymore, please vote out Ann next week for god's sake.We all know Strictly is an entertainment prog but Ann makes you cringe, she did not even try to dance last night!!! She has got to go!!!!!!

  • Comment number 25.

Words fail me yet again, how is it possible that th public can vote aor A & A yet gain, when this week she was so awful, looked like BIRDS EYE CUSTARD poor F & V. Bring back the judges votes

  • Comment number 26.

Unfortunately there have always been freek shows going back to the days of the bearded lady and Ann is being treated in the same way by the public who vote for her as they were. I would have hoped that Ann had more pride in herself than to allow herself to be treated in this manner

  • Comment number 27.

Andy Pandy wants his license fee back. Nobody asked him to watch the show. I am very glad to see that Ann is back next week, can't wait, now 6 days to go. Go Ann, you can win the show.

Felicity should have been voted to stay and Gavin out.

I must admit that this is the best strictly that there has ever been as it is now doing what it should have been doing since the beginning it is pure entertainment. Looking forward to next weekend Ann, phone will be running well.

  • Comment number 28.

As expected, lots of people here hating on the popular girl for whatever reasons (although I imagine jealousy must be one). Well we love Ann and she ain't going anywhere! Get used to it!

  • Comment number 29.

I Can't believe what I have just seen.
Felicity and Vincent out, but got told that it her best dance of the series.
Then you have someone like Ann that dosent dance dosent wont to dance but is still in the show what happening here???

The BBC should give the vote back to the judge's or what the point of having them their.should be a dance off
It look like Ann's going to win the show which is just not fair when you have potetial dancers.

Please Ann leave now it just not fair on the other, poor Vincent crying on national tv which i feel sorry for him because their are two other couples that should of gone first.

  • Comment number 30.

Unfortunately Strictly has become a farce. Getting rid of dancers who show iniative and voted off while Ann who is an embarressment to the show is kept on. I feel sorry for Anton who looks more fed up each week. We also think that the time for Bruce to give up is now, his jokes are pathetic and we can't even laugh at them.

  • Comment number 31.

ENOUGH is ENOUGH..................why is Anne still in the competition? Who the hell is voting for her?
Week after week she has been at the bottom of the leader board and every week she gets to dance again while better dancers are voted out! Bring back the dance off!

If she goes all the way to the final then the BBC had better be prepared for the fall out that will happen.

  • Comment number 32.

Who was in the bottom 2 tonight, I missed the results show ?

  • Comment number 33.

I have been a strictly fan since the start and I absolutely love it. However I do actually watch it for the quality of the dancing...It sickens me when reasonably good dancers are voted out when absolutely rubbish performers remain. I am sorry but you cannot link Ann Widdicome with the word dancer. As much as I love Anton they need to go!!!

  • Comment number 34.

Please people just stop voting for this woman she can't dance, she doesn't care about anyone else -oh guess what she's a tory all the idiots who voted in the election and are now getting what they deserved are now voting for her ...........

  • Comment number 35.

Meg Gordon I totally agree I have watched from the beginning and seen many great dancers emerge this is no longer a program I will continue to watch for much longer.

  • Comment number 36.

Tonight's result is a travesty. If Ann doesn't fall on her sword the judges should collectively resign and refuse to provide any further comments on the dances as the audience obviously take no notice. The voters are only interested in maintaining a popularity poll rather than a dance competition where effort and developing skills are rewarded. The show is becoming a joke.

  • Comment number 37.

Josie (message 20) I agree comnpletely.. The trouble is that I don't think that 'she' has a decent enough sinue of fibre in her body to do the right thing and walk like John Seargent did..

Fix / Scandal / complete bloddy sham... words forever associated with the BBC... what are we paying for??

  • Comment number 38.

i have enjoyed watching ann as she dances and i give her credit for trying so hard but it is now time i think to bow out too many serious dancers are being voted out. i think the public are keeping her in to annoy the judes and so that they can laugh and joke about her. she deserves better

  • Comment number 39.

as a licence payer - strictly come dancing is now a farce - what happened to real dancing competitors - they are being knocked out by a 'CLOWN' - making this the worst of the whole series - I feel so sorry for Anton! Brave Man! And Unhappy Judges too! Bring back proper dancing contest - I can't watch it anymore!!! Let Ann Bow out Gracefully Please!!!

  • Comment number 40.

So another real "dancer" bites the dust, not nice to see an improving dancer get kicked in the teeth at the expense of Ann! To me strictly is all about showing improvement as a dancer and making the dance entertaining as possible these are the two reasons I voted for Chris Hollins all last year, he was not the best dancer granted but he always put his heart and soul into his efforts every week and improved steadily from week one. Bottom line is Mrs W cannot dance is not improving in the slightest and after week 2 has certainly been far from entertaining.. Looks like its Robins and Patsy turn next week. We can always pray for miracles is suppose.

  • Comment number 41.

It is time that Ann goes before poor Anton lands up in hospital with an injury sustained by trying to move Ann over the dance floor!! I agree that it isn't funny any more and it isn't entertaining at all.It would be a travesty if we lost one of the top contenders and Ann was still there. I live in hope that sense will prevail and that next week will be her last in the competition.

  • Comment number 42.

Well done Felicity & Vincent for reaching Blackpool. You went out on a high with a glamorous American Smooth that showed both Felicity's performance skills and Vincent's choreography in a good light. I've enjoyed watching your progress.

    Keeeeep dancing!

  • Comment number 43.

I feel so angry and agree with all those against the Anne saga. The show has become a farce now the woman can't dance so what are all the idiots voting for to degrade the show. If she has anything about her she should resign like John Sergent did in the last series.

  • Comment number 44.

Looks more and more like a BBC stich up to me! Pasty is a far far better dancer than AW.

  • Comment number 45.

Stavrosian and Nevispark are you completely nuts? ITS A DANCE COMPETITION not help the aged or some sort of comedy show!

  • Comment number 46.

Pathetic couldn't care less attitude, and she's not even a likeable "celebrity" it must be fixed, even bad publicity is good publicity it seems.

Kill the show now, no more, it's pointless. Why have judges, utterly pointless. I have to record the show, to fast forward Bruce and Ann!

    So p'd off.

  • Comment number 47.

I can't agree with nevispark. The show is called Strictly Come Dancing!
    not Strictly Come Entertainment!

If he/she is voting for Ann they are responsible for better dancers leaving the show.

  • Comment number 48.

Please can we get rid of Ann! She is making a mockery of the whole show. If she was as decent a person as she claims to be she would leave of her own free will as she would see that other far better dancers are in danger of going while she lumbers on. I'm sure it is only the sympathy vote for Anton that keeps her in. I'd like to know how the BBC works out the votes from the public as I can't see how it is statistically possible for someone right at the bottom to stay in whilst someone much nearer the top goes out. Are the public votes weighted in some way? And why do the markes from the judges just get changed rto 8,7,6.....etc when there is such a huge gap bewtween Ann and everyone else. They should go......4,3,2, -150!!!!

  • Comment number 49.

This comment was removed because the moderators found it broke the house rules. Explain.

  • Comment number 50.

In past years the judges have complained bitterly about it degenerating into a popularity contest & not a dance contest. Are they on a gagging order this year? It has gone far enough now, where is the great British sense of fair play? How can ANYONE say Ann danced better than Felicity?

  • Comment number 51.

Nevispark (27) I watch 'Entertainment' shows... and also shows where the clue ios in the title... 'Strictly Come DANCING'

Do I have to spell it out to you...??... The Clue is in the title!!

If you'd like to send me a cheque, in place of the BBC it's all the same to me..

BTW I chose to watch because I like DANCING! ... not some kind of one upmanship that the BBC has got going on with ITV

  • Comment number 52.

Absolute sham! I am seriously losing interest in this programme. Why should dancers work hard all week to learn a new dance to watch the yellow peril stomp around like an elephant with arthritis? Not a dance step in sight. Repeat!! NOT A DANCE STEP IN SIGHT! Is this about dance or is is just a comedy show? somebody please tell me. Waste of time and energy. Why do they always have to have a fool? Why bother with judges at all??? I am at an utter loss. Enough is enough. Make a comment and the woman cant' keep her mouth shut!! This programme is a joke. A bloody joke!!

  • Comment number 53.

This comment was removed because the moderators found it broke the house rules. Explain.

  • Comment number 54.

Is this a dancing competition or a comedy farce. Have enjoyed all previous series but now get embarrassed watching. Only hope Ann does the correct thing and preserves any respect which she may have, but being a politician I don't expect she realises this.

  • Comment number 55.

Stavrosian, I must refer to your comment. The show is called Strictly Come DANCING! The clue is in the title. Ann DOES NOT DANCE! People like you who are voting for her should be ashamed!! Better DANCERS are being voted off before Ann and its NOT RIGHT!!

  • Comment number 56.

I think Ann should have gone ages ago. She is now making a mokery of the whole show.

  • Comment number 57.

stavrosian, what precisely do you think ellicits peoples' jealousy?

  • Comment number 58.

Saffikit, if you had one ounce of common sense you'd understand the frustration of having that idiot ruining the show for the real dancing fans.

  • Comment number 59.

"Stop whinging about Ann and get used to her"

Why? She's dire and has been consistently dire since the series began.

  • Comment number 60.

saffi, if you are bored you are free to leave, people have the right to disagree with you. I suspect you knew what the posters tonight would be saying and have turned up just to annoy them...

  • Comment number 61.

I'm a tad confused as to whether this is a dance competition or what?
yes it is entertainment - but its turned into a fixed farce at the expense of talented hard working individuals.
I agree with previous comments that Ms Widdecombe has no pride in herself to be throw around ungainly, and well and truly cannot put one foot in front of the other.
send her to the jungle next year

  • Comment number 62.

I noticed from the start of this series that all associated with it no longer seem to refer to it as dance competition but as an "entertainment show".
It's sad that the show has another "sargentgate" on its hands.
It does make a mockery of the hard work put in by the other celebrities when the BBC have recruited an elderly prude as a contestant who clearly has no desire or ability to dance.
I know of nobody that votes for Anne Widdecombe. Maybe there is an internet conspiricy as there is believed to be for the (fi)X Factor with Wagner.

  • Comment number 63.

I agree with the majority of the comments tonight. Ann is spoiling this dancing show and I will not watch it again until if and when!!! she goes. How the other contestants feel I really do not know giving their all in training and performing. If I were them I would be inclined to give up and let her win. Who is voting for her?

  • Comment number 64.

We live in Belgium and like your English programme. Why though is the lady who cannot dance and is very arrogant still in the competition? We are wery disappointed (good luck Matt)

  • Comment number 65.

After watching the results show I very disapointed with the results. How the yellow peril can still be in at the expense of others is a joke. Get a grip BBC or you will lose viewers.

  • Comment number 66.

I posted a comment suggesting that I'd liek my liscence fee back, and that maybe the BBC was not being completely honest about this whole debacle... and what dy'a know... I have just had it removed...

SHOCK ...HORROR... do you think I touched a nerve???

  • Comment number 67.

This surley must be a fix.

Let's have that excuse for a dancer perform first for a few weeks please.

Come on BBC, tells us the reason why she is always last or second last.

I bet you won't tell us because it will open a path to the truth.

  • Comment number 68.

Ann has said ‘I don’t care’ when criticised about various aspects of the dances she’s trying to do, seems to me she doesn’t care about dancing at all, she’s not respecting it. Yes, she’s having fun, good for her, but I’m sure the other (very polite) contestants wish she would politely leave.
The show producers are obviously presenting her as a grotesque piece of entertainment from the way they dress her. Bright pink, turquoise, yellow?! How much more elegant she’s look in black or burgundy or midnight blue (which some of the others have worn). Dressed flattering and elegantly , she might even be inspired to actually make a proper effort, like all the others, rather than treating it all as a joke.

  • Comment number 69.

I really am at the end of my tether there is no way that other dancers should be leaving before Ann Widdecombe!!! I realise that this is an entertainment show but a dance entertainment show!
Ann is not dancing and it is an insult to the other contestants and painful to watch.
Please will the BBC seriously consider NOT putting a stooge in next year as contestants who have trained and put their heart and soul into the competition lose out.

  • Comment number 70.

Interesting little comment/look from Katya in the link. Get the feeling that she wanted to be in the bottom 2 and be voted out. Maybe she is not that enamoured of Gavin. Interesting.

  • Comment number 71.

will all you Anton fans please vote for somebody other than Ann - do him a big favour and save him for any more circus acts - actually thats an insult to circus acts - dont know what else to call it. If you want him to have a chance in the future vote him out now - if he wins with Ann he will never get a decent partner- because BBC never allows anybody to win more than once - look what happened to the Bennets. I would assume Anton has pride in his dancing and would rather win with a celeb who could dance rather than one who has the talent of dead rhino.

  • Comment number 72.

You have to realize that this country is full of nutters and they are taking great delight in putting Ann through because they know how much it annoys the vast majority of people( whose votes are divided and diluted amongst so many other EXCELLENT dancers each week ) You saw the recent protest march in London and the damage and nearly the death of a policeman ? Were you appalled?. Of course. All right minded people were . BUT there are plenty of other people who thought that it was BLOODY MARVELLOUS. Only one thing missing....."the copper didn't get killed "

That's what we have to deal with in this country nowadays.

    I despair.

  • Comment number 73.

Post 59. I know she's dire but in my opinion (and clearly others) she's entertaining. Simples!

  • Comment number 74.

Don't the people who vote for Ann realise she is sneering at them and thinking they are fools when she isn't even trying to dance?
How stupid is the British Public?
Seems to me they are both stupid and spiteful and I am sad that they are spoiling one of the few shows I love.

  • Comment number 75.

I presume that people must be jealous of the fact she has the public on her side, whereas whomever they are supporting may not have. I know it hurts to back a losing horse, but it's bad form to blame your horse's deficiencies on the winner. It makes me laugh to see people moaning and wailing about "fair play" while insisting that the only result which be allowed to happen is the one *they* want!

  • Comment number 76.

Well done Felicity and Vincent for getting to Blackpool

Anyone else notice the parallels from week Jimi went out?? Best dance, best score hitting 30 but still being voted out

  • Comment number 77.

So pleased that my favourites Kara and Artem got through but funnily enough sad to see Felicity and Vincent go out. I didnt think Felicity was the best dancer but very gracious and I think she made a lovely couple with Vincent. Almost reduced me to tears seeing Vincent cry. He was so upset, bless him.

I cant say anything about Ann (that wont get me thrown off this forum) but safe to say that hopefully class eventually rises to the top. If it doesnt then the programme should be renamed from Strictly Come Dancing to Strictly Come Entertaining or more likely It's a Knockout. Maybe we could have Stuart Hall as a new judge?

  • Comment number 78.

I wish OFCOM has the power to enforce the publishing of the phone vote.

Any FOI request will be blocked by some hastily thought up piece of BS legislation.

Anyone here have any legal background?

  • Comment number 79.

simples -saffikit - she aint entertaining- she is an embarrassment

  • Comment number 80.

What the pro-Ann people have to remember is that this show is called Strictly Come Dancing, not Strictly Come Entertainment. Ann is not improving, she refuses to 'dance the dance', which must leave Anton with such a headache week after week, and yet the public who vote for her seem to think this is the 'right' thing to do! I love Strictly, always have done, but I for one will NOT watch the Final if she gets there, as I know she will then win. How can anyone possibly say that she is a better dancer than either Felicity or Patsy?

  • Comment number 81.

I thoroughly agree that they should bring the dance off back, the panel say that the dancing is getting to be of a high standard so if thats the case why is Anne Widdecombe still there!!!!
I myself done ballroom dancing when I was younger and have medals to show for it, and it makes me shudder at the thought of Ann carrying on each week when the other dancers are of a high standard.

  • Comment number 82.

I agree with Val Golightly, AW is not just making a mockery of the show, she has made herself a complete laughing stock. I doubt if anyone will take her seriously again - the best place for her is politics.

  • Comment number 83.

The reason so many people are complaining about Ann is not about getting a life. The show was billed at the very begining as a dance competion with trained ballroom and latin dancers. These dancers are training their celebrity dancers to do the dances properly. Steps laid down by the dance organisations. The celebriries are putting hours upon hours to do the dances as laid down. It is not a comody show there are plenty of those on tv already. The show is called Striclty come dancing. Not carry on dancing. Those of us interst4ed in dancing are being let down by the BBC. Once again those who do and are interseted have another medium to be ridiculed. BBC please decide what this program is so that all viewers are clear what sort of programme it is. It cant be both, so that all viewers can choose to watch or not.

  • Comment number 84.

I am so annoyed with the idiotic comments from the supposed Ann fans, get a grip will you go and watch something else if you are that sick in the head that you enjoy an old lady being humiliated every week. I watch Strictly to see good dancing so GO GET A LIFE SADDOS!

  • Comment number 85.

BBC do you read these comments if so why do we not get any response from you. If you allow this to go on you will become a laughing stock cant you at least let the public know what the full total amount of people that are voting is and that will show us that the money we use to phone you is being used correctly as I have written before how can the judges vote put Anne W bottom by a massive amount and she dose not get into the bottom 2 if it goes on like this she will win the final and no one will want to watch the programe next year or is that what you want save you having to get rid of Bruce F me thinks. Any one know how the scoring works because it dont make sense to me anymore.

  • Comment number 86.

You're wrong sravrosian(75) We don't want our favourite to win. It could be (NOW ) any one of about 5.It's not who we want to win .It's who DON'T think SHOULD win.

    Subtle difference I feel.

  • Comment number 87.

What a shame to see yet another good dancer leave the show. Felicity was sheer class and an inspiration to anyone thinking of learning to dance.

  • Comment number 88.

A fairly predictable result, again, this time. It will certainly be interesting to see how the Widdicombe wildcard fares when pitted against the genuine high cards in the pack. Hopefully, by that time, the number of remaining contestants will be small enough to produce a sensible result i.e. the vote 'against' A2 will be less fragmented.

Learnt a new word from the live show blog today - psephologist - one who studies elections. Thanks for that, Gorscot. With a job like that, perhaps you should be in cahoots with Anne ? (just kidding)

Similarly, a lot of people having a stab at Len for giving Kara and Artem a low mark. I suspect what is actually happening there is Len attempting to learn from (very recent) history. He is seeing the 'illegal lifts' fiasco starting to replay itself out all over again.
It would be very easy to turn a blind eye to it - and give Kara and Artem a high mark for what was , indeed, an absolutely fantastic performance (I don't think anyone involved doubts that for an instant), BUT, *if* you do that, 'illegal lifts' suggest every contestant will start jumping on the bandwagon, seeing how much they can get away with, "like naughty children"(1). Len is choosing to try and nip this one in the bud, at the start, this time. Kara just happened to be at the wrong time and place i.e. just after an embarrasing u-turn on the policy of letting too many lifts slip though just because they were good.

Hopefully, no harm has been done, as Kara has gotten through anyway - and the rest of the contestants will have gotten a useful message that all dances now have to be done EXACTLY "by the book, by the numbers, on the bounce"(2) - otherwise they will be lucky if head judge lets them off with mere death. ;)

I agree with the general opionion on these blogs that there is a lot more than one point of difference between Kara and Annes performances, however. Part of it is down to overmarking Anne, i think. Since entertainment seems to figure highly in how the public votes, having the judges award for it as well seems to be scoring it twice.

quote (1) is from Len talking about the illegal lifts situation.
quote (2) is from Robert Heinlien's starship troopers, if I remember correctly. Certainly from some sort of 'space marine' context, anyway.

  • Comment number 89.

Well... it seem that once again it is the "comedy act" that has won out over some very good dancing. I just have to wonder what the public is thinking when they let the likes of the big yellow banana through, over seriously good dancers like Flis or Patsy...

    It's a fiasco!!!!

  • Comment number 90.

I just can't understand why anyone wants to watch Ann she doesn't even attempt it in the slightest, but to hear Len complain about Kara not dancing an american smooth saying it is a foxtrot just baffles me!!!!
From what I can gather from this sight appart from one person no one can stand her so who the hell is voting for her. Obviously must have some strange sense of humour!!!!

Stavrosian - this is nothing to with fair play and who i am backing. What on earth makes the public vote for someone who isn't even trying!! Don't they know what the programme is about? The BBC need to make this stop now because I and a lot of others will not continue to watch this farce.

Post 75 ...The result that MOST people on this forum want, is simple.. for a D-A-N-C-E-R to win a DANCE contest... simple surely even you can understand that?... actually maybe not!

I cannot watch anymore. It is a farce. Ann made no effort to dance this week and obviously wants to be gone. Poor Anton I feel so sorry for him. I loved Ann as a Politician but she is now spoiling what was a very good programme, and all those other dancers are working so hard and are so good. Come on you Ann Lovers let her go, you are making such a fool of her.

well said Fiddler - message 86. I would one couple in particular to win but think there are at least 2 others and I wont mind if any those couples win becuase the celebs have really worked their socks off, given us some great dances and improved their skills. You cannot say this on any level about Miss Knickerbockers

montee (3)--Maybe hugging people is "improper" like a samba roll?

I know that's it's an entertainment show, no problem there, but it is supposed to be an entertainment show about Dancing. People that can actually dance a bit are being sacrificed for the sake of someone who is being guided and thrown around the floor by a desperate professional who must now be deeply embarrassed, if not; why not. I have yet to see a decent set of steps strung together, yet alone what could be loosely be called a dance. I have watched for a number of years, the show has lost it's purpose and quality and now I'm loosing interest.

There is as much chance of Ma Widdicombe resigning as there is of me flying to the moon, she is an ex-MP, thick skinned and oblivious to public opinion. Surely she is in breach of contract by refusing to dance. What will we see next week with the Rumba if she censored the Samba?? Standing still for 90 seconds? Kara was criticised (rightly or wrongly) for not including the right steps in the AS, well at least there were some dance steps, unlike other 'dances' I could mention. I have a horrible feeling this is going to run and run, right up to Christmas.........

Farewell Felicity & Vincent. You should be jolly proud of yourselves. You went out on a high!

I'll miss Felicity's scattiness and Vincent's sense of humour.

    Gavin out next please!

i totally agree about Ann, being useless, rude etc, but she wont go yet, there is a hidden agenda. I am hoping she opens the show next week, then we can get the pain over with. We as faithful fans are being taken the micky out of, of that i am sure. Dont think i can watch much longer

    I couldn't agree more.

Anne Widdicome never commiserates with those who are unfortunatley voted off. Furthermore despite her week of so called practice with Anton she rarely even attempts to dance and walks around the floor, so what is the point. Into the bargain Anton seems to think it's funny.

I really enjoy Strictly however, the show is now a total travesty and Anne Widdicome who can't dance and will never be able to dance survives in the public vote. The judges are clearly exasperated with the situation but it is out of their hands as they no longer have the power to save the better dancers. If the BBC wants to save this very popular show they will have to restore the judges to their true place and allow them to keep the correct celebrity dancers in the competition.

Should Anne Widdicome win this series of Strictly it will probably be the last as those members of the public who want to see someone who can dance win the competition will switch off permanently and I for one will be amongst them. Whilst I understand the BBC is obliged to have all sorts of celebrities this is just a step too far.

I feel sorry for the celebrities who put everything into getting it right and doing their best and taking some stinging comments from the judges week after week. Anne doesn't seem to get it and in my humble opinion she should call it quits now.
