Thankyou and goodnight

Post categories:

The Mole | 20:32 UK time, Thursday, 11 June 2009

Well, this is it!

It's time for me to say goodbye and to thank you all for being such a wonderful bunch. You've been unfailingly kind, unerringly helpful, and unbelievably quick in responding to our calls for action. In short, it has been nothing but a pleasure writing for you and I hope I was able to return the favour.

Until next time...

Yours truly,

The Mole

Hi Chris, Just told Mike Joyce you have been mentioning The Smiths song lyrics on Springwatch and asked him if he'd play a song for you and he played The Draze Train for me and you on his radio show Manchester online alternative Radio Show and read the message out he said he took a double take when he was watching the other night and heard you say Bigmouth Strikes Again but has since heard other people mention what you were doing. Good one Chris! You did great! Sad the show is over Love Carol Collis xxx

    Thanks Moley,
We have been so incredibly lucky having such a wonderful programme plus all the live webcam events and the messageboard community. Your blogs have been the icing on the cake - it has been great getting a regular insider's view. Just very sad you didn't get a moment of fame on the last unsprung as we requested!!!!

Have a good summer and we hope to see you back here in September.

I just want to put in a word about the webcams. It's been such a privilege to watch the lives of all the wild creatures from my own house on my computer screen. We're the first generation to be able to do that.

What a wonderful, positive influence Springwatch is. It's the thing that made me start feeding the birds in my garden 4 years ago, and has made me think much more carefully about what I do in my garden and the impact I have on the other creatures that live here.

Seeing them all close up has made them seem so much more real, and the vital importance of looking after their habitats is so much more immediate and obvious. I've learned to care about these creatures and from that I've decided to do what I can to help them.

Great work, Springwatch! Please keep it up next time.

    Dear Mole
    Until next time ......

Hope that means you'll be continuing the Blog on the (new look did Kate say?) Autumnwatch.
Thanks again to absolutely everyone for the best Springwatch ever (it's set a high bar to reach in 2010).

Been doing my bit in creating an urban wildlife garden and rewarded by many wonderful creatures joining me and, joyously, the day that Springwatch's Greenfinches fledged my first Greenfinch visited, a male, and started scoffing on the food stocks growing in my patch!

Warmest wishes to everyone and au revoir 'til Autumnwatch.
