Simon Mayo Simon Mayo Presenter

Welcome to all new bloggers! Loads of new names in here and hope you enjoy being part of the busiest blog around (I have no basis for that claim but I'm making it anyway). You join us just as I go quiet for a couple of weeks. Does that mean that you need go silent? Au contraire The occasional game of 'guess the number of posts while Simon's away'. I'm going for 783 but that might be embarrassing. But guess away and see what happens.

Sally of course will continue for 2 more weeks-thanks for the tunes yesterday- a bumper crop. And her final selection of Bob Seger was a corker. I don't know what happens next, but Sally will 'reappear in some form' which is quite a claim. Good luck Sal!

And a broiling, busy ARF is on the way with 1999 selected by the sands and dust of the Drivetime fairies. The fabulous eclipse was the event of the year for me-how packed was Cornwall that August 11th? I almost ended up sharing a room with Zoe Ball which would never do. The euro was launched, the Millennium Stadium was opened and your host was just about hanging on at hot rocking Radio 1. And your song would be?

Look after RT while I am away, keep posting and see you in a fortnight...
