Morning all. Grey and cold but coffee good and child3's missing laptop discovered under piles of clothes. So all ok then.
Enjoyed the Please please Me songs yesterday, it was a great atmosphere at Abbey Road; hustle bustle, engineers and musicians running everywhere and all those memories. Everywhere you look there are photos of classic artists looking like, well classic artists in heroic, musical poses. Ian Broudie told me a story about a time in the 70's when there was a clear out of old Abbey Road mixing desks and was offered one of the ones that was used in the Beatles day. His for a grand if he took it-it was getting in the way. He never took them up on the offer and it later went for £500,000! Thats £500,000! That's going to hack you off for a while I'd have thought. Anyway, some fine tunes still available online if you want to hear some of those tunes again.

Hope you enjoyed the book club choice-intereseting discussion on yesterday's blog about some of the issues brought up by The Universe versus Alex Woods. It's one of those tales that stays with you I think. Our next is WOOL by Hugh Howey, a Matrix-like slice of sci-fi which will big news I think.

Today's plans are up in the air somewhat (guests eh?) but lets do SHROVE TUESDAY/PANCAKE DAY songs. Raymond Blanc has set the tastebuds a tingling already so let's see what seasonal tunes you select.

Have an enterprising and fruitful Tuesday. See you at 5.

Loved hearing the long songs again last night.

Even GoodBoy#1 pricked up his ears in the kitchen when Stairway to Heaven was played, saying (grunting) "Whoa, they're playing THAT on Radio 2. Cool."

Oh dear. I feel a bit awful now as I have just received a message that the folks I meeting this morning are stuck in snow.

Hoping for an early new blog as I have a meeting at 10 but crossing my fingers the people I'm meeting with won't make it through the snow. Don't they know there's tune chasing to be done in the mornings?

Well done to your son Erica. You have every reason to be proud ;0)

Good morning one and all - it's actually quite bright here this morning; the sun is trying to wake up and find his hat......

Well done to the channel swimmer, Erica - he is doing fantastically well and you should tell everyone how proud you are of him, not apologise. ;0)

See you on the sparkly new page, when it arrives...............

#75 JBG... I agree with you about that awful version of 'Do You Want To Know A Secret' by Ian Broudie... and last night I heard Janice Long saying that Ian told her he was up all night after recording it, worrying about his performance....

My favourite, from what I have heard, is The Stereophonics' version of 'I Saw Her Standing There'.

Good Morning All from a winter wonderland and the snow is still falling.

JBG I agree about the live song Do You Wanna Know a Secret. The only good bit about it is the little bit of guitar at the start.

Do you think it will be Lent oldies today?

    Good morning everyone

#71 Amelia, I wondered why you associated me with your unabridged Rubbernecker audiobook!

#73... Ah, so the mystery of Jack Sparrow has been solved! I had no idea it was you, Hoofs, but someone else thought you were a lady Jack, having joined in with the handbags chat... but these days some men also carry bags...

I'm sorry your littlest son has been feeling upset about the FF news, it's so hard to take in. If his t-shirt is too small you could perhaps get him a teddy to wear it for him. I collect teddy bears and they all have clothes if they were bare bears when I bought them.

I hope Small Sparrow's temperature has, or will soon return to normal, especially if you're going to London at the weekend.

I agree with what you said about Amelia's #72 post... I also love Amelia's posts!

    Morning all

Feeling just a little bit bloated this morning, after one too many pancakes. What a lovely annual ritual it all is.

Congrats to Son of Erica - what a little star he is, and a sign of real determination.

So, no confession from me, but I did find the whole process of writing and submitting it strangely cathartic, and hope my mother will now forgive me. Would be even better if it gets read out one day, but as KatyMac says, I'll have to join the back of the queue.

What is this terrible version of "Do you wanna know a secret?". Just not. Quite. In time. Withthemusic.

    Get well soon mini-Jack Sparrow!

See you all soon on a shiny new page.

#72 - Amelia - your last sentence - advice that is impossible to follow. Your posts are excellent.

My #73, however, unnecessarily long winded. Why use one word when fifteen will do?! TMI.

Hey ho, that's me out of here. X
