Playing: How High the Moon (Instrumental) by Chuck Berry
BBC Radio 2
...is in the air. The smell of a buffet breakfast wafts around the room. Would I like hash browns with my bacon. These are the tell-tale signs of a hotel weekend, along with a metal coffee pot that won't pour into your cup but can dribble all over the carpet at will. I would never choose beans, bacon and egg at home but here it seems rude not to. 'It'll set me up for the day' I claim while knowing full well that the service station will offer its usual fare and I will give in at the first temptation.
Assuming the M4 runs true, all will, be in place for another Monday Drive spectacular. Simon Day and Rhys Thomas guest after 6 to talk about their 'Life of Rock With Brian Pern' rockumentary. Or mockumentary. We are firmly in Spinal Tap territory here with Brian apparently the man who invented world music, played with prog band Thotch and is now  busy saving the planet. Simon came to fame with the Fast Show and Rhys fronted 'Down The Line' on Radio 4 and was BAFTA nominated for his documentary 'Freddie Mercury:The Great Pretender'.
And meantime some long distance travel needed. And I'm thinking COMMUTING oldies please as headlines such as 'Half of rail operators rated as dismal' tell the story of a new passenger survey. Cars, buses, cars and  bicycles are part of the mix of course but joys of the commute please, captured in song.
And now I really need some fried bread to go with my fried egg and haggis. Or whatever it claimed to be.

Just have to go carefully today, bit tense and bit angst ridden, but will be okay, long lunch, long walk, smash up some stuff and take it to the tip, garden rubbish I mean :-.)) what tunes I wonder, I'll bail out today, so chose some belters,

Go well all of you, I shall try,

    H

    Good luck Jennie

Did anyone hear Simon on Zoe's show this morning? Zoe asked Simon if he was going to the folk awards tomorrow.

Simon replied, "As I'm presenting the show................"

    Hilarious!
