Easter Sunday morning with...
On this weeks show, my guest is Alastair McIntosh, who like me, grew up on the Isle of Lewis. Alastair is the founder of Galgael a Govan based initiative whose main aim is to reconnect local people with a sense of community.
Alastair was telling me about a recent return home where he came across what he describes as "female spirituality", among the older members of the various communities. Its an experience he believes has strong connections with the Easter story. And since the men and women in the life of Jesus had very different reactions to discovering the empty tomb its leads us nicely to the complementary topic of male spirituality - and my guest Douglas Mowatt talks about a unique retreat which he describes as equipping him with what he needed to deal with life events.
Joe Mills recounts a retreat he made 20 years ago this Easter which still resonates with him today and we drop into rehearsals for the Glasgow Passion - a modern take on the traditional Easter story.
And stay tuned after the show, as this week we'll be celebrating what is the oldest, and arguably the most important day in the Christian calendar, with a special Easter programme where Anna Magnusson tries to understand her own experiences of loss and hope, in the context of the gospel story of Christ appearing before his disciples after the Resurrection.
Thanks again for getting in touch with your favourite songs and the stories surrounding them - I'm looking for more, so do get in touch by email email@example.com Happy Easter.
