Samara chats to fellow cellist Alban Gerhardt in the interval

Alban Gerhardt has just performed the world premiere of Unsuk Chin's cello concerto. I managed to catch up with him and talk about the technical pyrotechnics involved. Guidance warning: this clip contains strong language:

    Its great that Alban talks so openely. As a wanabe cellist (only been playing 3 years) it nice to know how long expets practise and that even the experts can miss the piece they practice the most. Looking on, most professtionals look as though they are perfect ALL the time.
    But loved the Concerto (most of it) and wow those harmonics off the end of the fingerboard, sustained for so long and with such a clear tone.
    Really amazing playing.
    One day maybe ....
