Football's forgotten superstar 3:56pm on 12 Nov 2009 I think somebody else has already said this but, surely we should defer to the coaches who watch him week in week out and don't consider him good enough to play even at lowly Belenenses.

The guy obviously has either an attitude problem or, more likely a talent problem.

I disagree with this statement. As a rule, I feel Gordon Brown is a bit of a joke.

However, In this case I can't see that Brown has done anything but the right thing.

He hand writes to every family who suffer a loss and obviously takes the time to make each letter personal. I don't believe he can blame his disability for his poor spelling, that's all him, but at least he has made the effort.

What he needs to make sure he does in the future is have all of these letters proofed before sending them out.

However, hopefully he won't have too much of a future in politics so we will see the back of these kinds of mistakes pretty soon.

Why does it matter how many bedrooms I have? The only possible use for this will be to increase, if possible, my council tax bills.

I find these posts utterly pathetic. You need to grow up excellentjurgen. Everytime NR writes anything he is accussed by one side or the other of being biased.

I do think the BBC missed the boat by not reporting more widely on the Daniel Hannan speech, but it was missed originally by eveyone except the Americans (who loved it).

Until it became an internet hit, none of the UK media felt it newsworthy.

Superstitious tales of beans, socks and and dead skin 11:09am on 19 Feb 2009 When I play football I don't think I have any superstitions, although I always eat pasta before a game. Cricket, however, I always have to tap the bat at my foot three times during the bowlers run up.

Superstitions don't just apply to playing though. When I'm watching a game I have to be careful what I'm wearing. I bought a shirt a while ago, wore it to the game and we lost, I've never worn it on match days since.

Equally, on the day of a match, I won't walk over three consecutive drains!

I know deep down my actions make no difference, but I'd be so annoyed with myself if I did something I considered bad luck and we lost!

Torture allegations and UK-US relations 3:31pm on 04 Feb 2009 Let's face it - if this is true and the British Government is found to have supported torture and allowed a British Court to be bullied by a foreign power, the Government must resign.

I stress IF though because I have a feeling the facts will be somewhat complicated.
'Shovel ready' schemes 11:23am on 19 Dec 2008 Sounds mostly reasonable.

I'd probably spend more of the money on buying cheap land and building on it rather than trains, but, all in all, fairly sensible suggestions
