Fibre from Amsterdam 12:35pm on 17 Sep 2008 As someone who lives in an older neighbourhood and has to deal with coppers weakness to interference and noise I would gladly welcome fibre at the same speed for increasing reliablility and less dropped packets.
No defence for 'stealing' music 10:46am on 03 Jul 2008 The semantics between copyright infringement and stealing is stealing is taking a physical object where as copyright infringement is the reproduction of an idea or concept.

The music industry in america didnt do any favours in the battle to respect copyright however when it was discovered the RIAA were using illegally cracked software.
Begging for Broadband 4:57pm on 03 Jun 2008 Further to my previous comment, take a look at the map for the NW, centre of Bolton, Wigan, Liverpool, Manchester, Bury, every city I look at the centre is always red where green is in the outlying regions.
Begging for Broadband 1:26pm on 03 Jun 2008 You dont have to live in the middle of nowhere to have a bad connection. I hope when you move into the large towns and cities you will investigate the problem of congestion.

As more and more people get broadband connections ive seen the speed available to me fall by upto 50% in the last 3years, from over 5megs on an max 8meg connection down to 2 and reliability has suffered as well. BT need to start investing in replacing our aging teleccomunications infrastructure in the same way as the water companies were forced to. The government too must recognise the problem and the costs involved and pony up some of the costs as well.

lets face it the government will invest in bridges and roads, this investment will have the same degree of benefit to the economy.
New News 2:48pm on 21 Apr 2008 Im pretty neutral on the change, I dont hate it but I prefer the previous look. I do have two minor niggles with it however, firstly as pointed out before the grey news tickers look terrible, secondly with so much white it has a very clinical, sterilised look that makes me think of clean rooms and operating theatres rather than the warm colours previously that gave a welcoming by the fire feel.
