With respect to the shoot venue. I am a member of the GB Shooting Team and the fact that a temporary facility at Woolwich is being constructed seems like an enormous waste of money to me (£18m as last count).

If I were betting man I would wager that an update to the facility at Bisley would be a more cost effective solution.

It would also provide a legacy for myself and other shooters in the UK, which a temporary facility would not.

I, as a UK tax payer would welcome this cost reduction, as I am sure everyone else would. Seems like a no-brainer to me!
Shooter Du Li set to win China's first gold 09:39am on 08 Aug 2008 That may be true, however shooting has been in the Olympics since it's inception in 1896.

It currently has participants from 103 nations, making it one of the most inclusive sports in the Olympic Games.

Winning an Olympic Gold Medal is considered the ultimate achievement in shooting sports. I believe this argument justifies its inclusion and casts a doubt on other sports where the Olympics are not the pinnacle... Football for one
Help us pick our 10 to watch 9:07pm on 08 Jul 2008 We have Richard Faulds who is in excellent form in the Double Trap Clay Shooting event. He has been in the final at all four world cups this year, winning Gold, Silver and Bronze. He finished 4th in the other world cup.

Steve Scott is the current European Champion (as of Monday 7th July) in the same event. I don't think you will find a stronger pair competing for Great Britain in these Olympics.

They both stand an excellent chance of medals.
