Pietersen hides cracks in England batting 00:42am on 09 Aug 2008 YES Jonathon and 3 of the 4 captains of England who scored centuries in their first appearance as captains were born in SOUTH AFRICA, Lamb, Strauss, and now Pietersen. Totally agree with you re: INDIA TELLING ENGLAND who they can select. If they do SA, AUS and ENGLAND should tell them were to go. Reminds me of the afrikaner and Basil DOliviera. NO ROOM FOR THAT NONSENSE. SA was wrong then and India would be just as wrong. If they are silly enough to do that please come to SA for your next series. We would all love that. Congrats to Pietersen, KZN told him he wasnt good enough. Come to think of it, they have told Rudolph pretty much the same thing. Harmison certainly has made a huge difference. Maybe he should open for England, as a bat, just kidding.

Sorry mate but your wrong. Hes not the third captain to score a hundred in hes maiden test as England captain. Hes the 4th. Interestingly hes the 3rd SA born captain of England to do it. Lamb, Strauss and now Pietersen, all scored centuries for England when they played as captain. Arent you so fortunate to be able to get SA players to switch allegance?

Pietersen fails to complete rescue operation 00:30am on 02 Aug 2008 Pietersen could easily have been out twice in the same over to Kallis. Hes unorthodox ,and very capable of taking a game away from ANY team. Recall, he was swashbuckling against the aussies in the final test of the 2005 ashes, and ended up SAVING it for England, despite given up a couple of chances. If AB had dropped that difficult catch I think England might be 387 for 4 with the game well in hand. He showed great fortitude when he first came in, helped Collingwood settle and the set about the bowling. OK, so you dont have another Trevor Bailey, Len Hutton, or Peter May in the fold, but he does it hes way, like it or not. As a SA fan, I rue the stupidity of KZN in not playing him in the provincial team. He is ONE OF A FEW batsmen in world cricket today that Id pay to see anywhere anytime. STOP looking for reasons to criticise him, he single handedly helped Collingwood and gave England a better than fighting chance tomorrow. What a magnificent ENTERTAINING player you have in KP, end of story. Boycott and co. you couldnt have done that with 2 days to play let alone one. To me Boycott is the snail, KP the hare, which would you rather see on any given day. At one stage England was scoring at over 5 runs an over and had Smith panicking. He just mistimed it, end of story.
Brilliant Flintoff brings Test back to life 00:42am on 01 Aug 2008 Totally agree, Flintoff was magnificent. pity that Kallis didnt have the option to clearly see those magnificent balls. England has (this team anyway) a composition of good but NOT great bowlers. Flintoff (world class) showed the difference. If Harmison and Hoggard are over the hill as many seem to think, then England are in for another hammering come the ashes next year. Sorry, Sidebottom, Panesar, Anderson, Broad dont do it for me. England must rejuvernate Harmison and Jones if they are to contest this series and the ashes next year.
