Benitez and O'Neill on the offensive 4:12pm on 25 Aug 2009 I don't think it's fair that you removed my comment complaining about you focusing on Liverpool the whole time. The fact is it's true you have a myopic focus on Liverpool, seems like that's all you want to write about.

If you don't want to receive comments criticising your sole focus on Liverpool don't write about them all the time.

I would have thought you would have the guts to reply to my criticism rather than just pretend it never happened.

Is Owen still worth a gamble? 3:09pm on 17 Jun 2009 I personally hope he goes off to play for Fulham, seems to me with the heavy schedule Fulham have with the Europe League he would be worth getting. Specially as he has proved he can score at international level. Also think it would be a good move for him if he goes to any of the teams above Fulham from last season the fans will turn on him if he doesn't score within the first 3 games he plays, I think he will be given more of a chance by Fulham fans.

the trouble is you media types will come across all shocked and react as though you didn't expect it.

Be fair to them , seems fair enough that they will be shocked by something happing that they didn't expect, or how else are you supposed to react to surprises exactly ?

It seems to me that the biggest problem is that a player doesn't need to be that intelligent. A manager requires to be much more intelligent. Quite simply put, many great players don't have the brains to be a great manager.
A friendly word from Fab 4:01pm on 17 Nov 2008 I am also very suspicious of all the convenient injuries of the top 4 clubs England players in recent years. Really I just relish the idea of them getting their just deserts , for some unknown or unsung hero from a "lesser" club getting a chance to play then proving that they are better than the "superstar" they replaced. I think like many I got bored of the whole "Lampard" Gerard" debate, it would be a laugh if it was found that a Barry - Bullard combo turned out to be so much better.

The one thing that does wind me up a little is the Michael Owen situation, I know he seems to be cursed by a whole succession of injuries. I hope he gets the chance to at least warm the bench of a future England side.

I'm very intersted to know Robbo, do you really believe downing will make it at International level ???????????

I hope they do well but I'm still to be convinced that Abgonlahor or Bent will make the International grade, and Owen is without question better than Crouch or the other pretenders to his crown.

I agree that managers should be given a chance, it's clear that things haven't quite gelled at Man City yet, I reckon Hughes will probably need to lay down the law at some point and clearly stamp his authority, on a couple of players with larger egos.

I kind of have the impression despite a couple of pieces of sublime skill that the Brazilians at the club really aren't taking their task seriously enough.

I must say the way things are going at the moment with so many clubs facing the danger of the drop that this year could be a bumper year for managerial sackings with owners and directors scared silly that it might be their club that faces being thrown off the cash cow bandwagon.

I reckon it's going to be a very eventful year in that respect , in fact it's already been quite eventful hasn't it.

Wenger must cure Arsenal frailty 3:01pm on 03 Nov 2008 Watching Arsenal over the last couple of years I have come to the conclusion that what they really need is a hardman.

A defensive midfielder or maybe a Centre-back someone who demands respect from his fellow players cos he will not let anyone through. They need someone maybe like Tony Adams used to be or John Terry is now, or Carragher or Carrick or Ferdinand, someone who can't be bothered with all that ponsing about with the ball, but would continue to play if there were blood pouring from there head which was just held at bay by copious amounts of bandages. I don't see that they have a player like that in there entire squad , it certainly isn't Gallas he seems to have a Hissy fit when the going gets tough.

The problem is, it seems to me that Wenger is to proud of his beautiful game to employ such a player.

Those who can remember them, it's like entering the Harlem Globetrotters into the NBA and watching them getting mauled by REAL teams.
