Safina is number 1 and shouldn't be. Like Murray shouldn't be no.2 till he wins a GS. Safina showed how good she was against Williams at Wimbledon. Until Murray wins a GS he cant be considered No.2 IMO.
It's like saying Tottenham are better than Liverpool because they beat them on Sunday. Who will finish higher in the table/more chance of winning a trophy?
Until Murray wins that GS he is behind Federer and probably Nadal.
Murray nears the summit 10:19am on 18 Aug 2009 It would be an absolute joke if Andy Murray was to become numbe 1 any time soon. He has never won a Grand Slam and only been to 1 final. Maybe if he wins at Flushing Meadows he will deserve the top spot, but until he wins a Slam, it should not be allowed.
He has won multiple tournaments now, but all of them are best of three sets. He still needs to prove he can win at the highest level.

Lampard is the hindrance in the side. For 5 years now managers have tried to accomodate Lamps and Gerrard. Whilst Gerrard hasn't been playing, the whole of England has seen that you cant play Lampard at all, unless he has the cover of Mikel, Makelele and Essien. Lampard should be dropped. Other than score when the ball falls to him ( and only for Chelsea ), what does he actually bring to the team? His passing is okay, he can't tackle, doesn't score headers and isn't skillfull or very fast.
The midfield should be Hargreaves when fit, with Gerrard in a advanced role. Lampard on the bench, only used if we play 4-2-3-1

Beckham is a good user of the ball, but as someone said earlier, we always play down the right with him on the pitch and its so predictable. I'd like to see Young and Milner on the wings more often and in competitive games.
Rooney upfront, and when fit it has to be Owen upfront. Defoe as a sub.
Mixed emotions for Capello 10:16am on 13 Aug 2009 Another typical England perfomance in the first half - they never looked like scoring. How many games is Frank Lampard allowed to play at a very mediocre level. He cannot play at International level as the 'other' midfielder. To accomadate Lampard, England would need to play 3 in the middle, like at Chelsea. He has had far too many chances now and has not performed for England consistently since 2004. It is time he is dropped.
Ferdinand made a terrible mistake, which was unlike him. On a more positive side, Defoe looked very good ad Milner was exceptional. Has to be on the left in the next game. We have to give these types of players the chance to progress, after all, we have never won anything in the Beckham, Gerrard, Lampard, Cole, Terry, Owen etc Era why will we with them now??
Owen worth Man Utd gamble 10:41am on 03 Jul 2009 Great Player Michael Owen. He was awesome at Liverpool, very good at Madrid and his record at Newcastle was not shabby. When he is fit he is guaranteed to get you goals. Gutted Rafa hasn't gone back for him.This could well turn out to be the buy of the summer. Just hope he remains in the hearts of Liverpool fans.
Milan to Madrid via Manchester 3:09pm on 09 Jun 2009 Terrible move for Kaka this. Real are in decline. No matter who came in as president. The club needs to get their priorities right and that was starting in defense. Cant see Madrid doing anything next year, Barca will still be too strong. The old galactico era was totally over-rated anyway. With the players they signed for the prices, they under-achieved big time. Ronaldo and Beckham didn't win in Europe. Zidane only once. Not great considering the money spent. Madrid 2nd in La Liga next year and knocked out in 1st knockout round of CL.
Barry gets England talking 10:24am on 04 Jun 2009 Thank you Manchester City. Now we may just keep Alonso! At least if he goes we won't be replacing him with Barry, thats like buying a Skoda to replace a Mercedes. Barry is a decent player, but no way is he a top 4 team player. £12m is about right for Barry. Oh and he's defo gone for the money as well.
Brilliant Barcelona outclass Man Utd 10:33am on 28 May 2009 Considering how good Man United have been for the past 3 years, I think there are some terribly harsh comments toward Alex Ferguson on here today. I don't think he got it wrong at all, I just think his players did not perform. I read that Evra said if United played Chelsea in the final and lost ' oh well at least we won it last year '!!! This comment baffles me. No player should be talking about,' oh at least '?!?!
Fergie was let down big time last night by a very good team. Anderson was awful, Carrick and Giggs. It's time Giggs took a back seat now and plays less and less. Get rid of Berbatov, all my United fan mates rated him so highly, he is an absolute waste of space. He was good in home games at Tottenham thats about it. He smokes 15 fags a day! say no more about him.
The only selection which may of been wrong from Ferguson last night, was to leave out Tevez. Tevez would of hurried the Barca defense from the start, Rooney on the left was wasted as well. But the main problem was their big players failed to show up-it does happen. Most people thought if that happened Ronaldo would of been one, last night he was United's best player.
The worrying thing is that this all happened to United last night! Next season they will be a lot stronger, with a few new faces, which does not look good for other teams. Fergie will definately sort them out.
