Competitive elections in China? 12:29pm on 12 Mar 2009 Western style of democracy doesn't equal to democracy.

One party structure doesn't necessarily mean no competition of elections.

I just wonder when James can show us the true picture of the Old Tibet or the well-known so-called Shangri-la style of Tibet under the Dalai's ruling before 1950 and let the general audience to see which one is the real 'hell on the earth'.

Whispers of the Dalai Lama 11:26am on 12 Mar 2009 Apparently, James visited Qinghai, where Dalai was born, and there is absolutely no restrictions or whatsoever for a foreigner to pay a visit to Qianghai Province, which is a neighbouring province of XiZhang, AKA Tibet.

Of course he could take some interviews without being arrested in Qinghai, since he was not breaking any laws or regulations. It's like saying that someone took a visit from london to manchester to make some interviews without being arrested.

I guess, the whole point of emphasizing the fact that he has not been arrested is to make an eye-catching story.

The first and foremost skill of being a politician is telling a lie without a slightly sign of blush.

How news breaks in China 4:24pm on 27 Feb 2009 Probably the Chinese media are being too positive on many issues but on the other hand, the western media are doing the exact opposite thing, paying too much attention on how to identify the negative side of everything happening in China.
How news breaks in China 4:04pm on 27 Feb 2009 I just don't know why James deliberately neglect the fact that this breaking news report of a negative incident from Xinhua, the good news broadcaster, actually shows another small step forward of the press freedom in China.
Tough words on human rights 1:53pm on 27 Feb 2009 The US always believes that it's the world police who have the rights to interfere with other countries' internal issues, but the truth is the US is nothing more than a corrupted cop with little moral or legal grounds to rise any accusations.

China, on the other hand, probably had enough from the states and decided to offer a similar style of the non-sense report.

I believe the US should simply shut up and look at its own businesses and then, China would save some time and energy to produce the counter attack to the hollow and meaningless reports.

The Western media is doing the same. All the kinds of media around the globe is working in the same way to manipulate general public, directly or indirectly. No matter is state owned or so called independent, they are all servants to maximise the strategic interests of their nations.

I couldn't find the full version of the Chinese presidents' speeches during the annual Chinese parliament sessions either, especially the parts that denouncing the dark side of capitalism. Is that censorship? I don't know, you tell me.
Apology by text message 4:11pm on 02 Jan 2009 I understand the anger of those parents but apparently, apart from the trials and apologies, what they are asking for is more compensation for further medical treatments.

Hence, I am not sure why James says that for some parents, the trials, apologies and compensations are not good enough for them.

Those who should be held responsible will be prosecuted according to law, and the companies are issuing their apologies, plus the free medical treatments have been provided by the government and compensation fund is being set up. I really don't know what else James expects.

There is no way to totally comfort those parents and their children who suffered from this horrible incident and it will be utterly difficult for them to forgive. But that doesn't mean there is anything more to do.
