Although I will agree a 6th place finish is a lot to ask for, I will press the fact that for the first time in many years, Birmingham City fans feel confident going into any game.

As for Birmingham being set up for second season syndrome, I don't think two young and phenomally talented centre backs, a potential second season with Joe Hart in between the sticks, a wealth of seasoned Premier League players and a January/Summer window transfer kitty of 60-80 million is the normal platform for a poor second season. But of course, I'm going to be biased, aren't I!

Red tinted glasses much? He's been sloppy all season, and has always had questionable concentration on the pitch. His best days are behind him, I for one would welcome bleeding in Cahill, Upson or even Birminghams Roger Johnson.
Scots football bodies should hear McLeish out 4:14pm on 02 Oct 2009 I think the 14 responses before my post sum up the need for Scottish Football reform. If this blogs comment response is anything to go by, people obviously care little for Scotlands game.

As an Englishman, for example, I can confidently name 6 Premier Scottish teams. This is not good!
Chelsea & Liverpool under scrutiny 3:42pm on 02 Oct 2009 I completely agree that Liverpool are under more pressure! Benitez is an established manager of a team who is craving for League success and league success alone. Two early losses this season resulted in even playing staff (Reina) declaring the title as being out of reach after what, 5 or 6 games?

Chelsea, on the other hand, have had their fill of domestic success. Yes, a League title would be most welcome under Ancelotti's stewardship, but I can guarantee Roman and the Chelsea fans will keep the faith with Carlo despite any potential faltering league form, and will remained buoyed with his awesome European record, one which might reward the London club with the continental prize they have been dreaming of for so many years.
Torres, Drogba or Rooney - who's the best? 3:25pm on 02 Oct 2009 I think Wayne has the attributes in the wrong places. He has some amazing qualities for a Striker, some amazing qualities for an attacking midfielder, making him a jack of all trades yet master of none.

Torres, however, is far closer to mastering striking than Drogba or Rooney.

Both teams had the 6 minutes to score. You could've played 10 hours more and it wouldn't have made a difference. Man City didn't score, Man Utd did. That's not the refs fault and never will be.
