Pricking the profits bubble 12:25pm on 24 Oct 2008 iirc the late Ian Rushbrook of the Personal Assets Investment trust felt that if the effects of the excess credit were removed from GDP, the UK has had zero growth since the turn of the century.

Based on this, todays drop of 0.5% is nothing. The excess credit resulted in growth of 17%, so a drop of 15% is a realistic prospect.

From personal experience, people conducting rights issues are not allowed to disclose information to their companies traders.

Prove that the trading part of the business was given information from the people conducting the rights issue.

It's the other ~88% which seems either to have suddenly worsened or they have miscalculated.

Talk about a lesson in how not to conduct a fund raising exercise, I don't think those responsible could have handled it any worse.

I wonder if they'll disappear under a flood of class action lawsuits.
