Neither the Assembly nor the AM's came out of it very well.

I am afraid this argument does not hold water. Thousands were offended by the Brand/Ross furore on BBC TV a few weeks ago yet only a handful of the complainants actually witnessed the broadcast.
It is not necessary to be present at an event to be offended by it.
Insipid? 11:10pm on 09 Dec 2008 The piece would have made better reading (and better journalism) had it contained some facts.
For one thing the written rules governing the use of the assembly rooms prohibit matter that 'may be or is likely to cause offence'
For another the interpretation of the rules - not that they are unclear in this instance - is a matter for the Assembly Commision. However the Assembly Commission consist of (you've guessed it) Peter Black and Lorraine Barrett.
What price a legislature that cannot even obey its own rules?

The BBC licence free? 11:30am on 29 Nov 2008 Thirty-five years ago, if you criticised BBC television in public (in a pub or at work), a good proportion of those you were talking to would disagree with you. Nowadays, that same criticism is almost unanimously supported.
It seems the only friends the BBC have are those on its payroll.
The BBC licence free? 5:04pm on 28 Nov 2008 I am a reasonably successful writer! However I would be a great deal more successful (not to mention prosperous) if, every time someone purchase a book the law said they also had to pay for one of mine, irrespectove of whether they wanted to or not.
This, of course, is an absurdity but it is the logic that supports the TV licence.
The BBC licence free? 4:43pm on 26 Nov 2008 How much one should pay is beside the point. The real question is whether or not one should have the choice of having the BBC or not.
In our household - and I do not believe ours is unique in this respect - the BBC is rarely watched. The news coverage is generally inferior to that of Sky although most of our news intake comes from the web.
For general entertainment we tend to watch DVD - the BBC's insistence in injecting smut into everything has put us right off their 'quality' programmes.
I think we should have a choice.
Airlines vote results 01:56am on 16 Nov 2008 I fly to the US about four times a year and to Europe every few weeks and the one airline I will not use is BA. I have travelled business class but finding the staff no more polite than they are in the economy, I now fly economy and spend the difference on something else.
In any event, anyone who pays a thousand pounds simply to eat off a plate, has more money than sense!
