Liverpool walks on 7:06pm on 24 Jun 2009 These two foreign shysters have come into this country and dumped their debt onto a previously successful football club. How would any UK government allow this? Easy. Its their friends the bankers. They will make money and the football fans will pay. This is the way it works in Nu-Labour/Old Tory UK.
Customer service - have your say 2:18pm on 29 Apr 2009 As a telecomms person myself, and a hater of all things to do with call centres, Automated Voice Response (AVR) systems and foreign telephone operators, I want to add my little bit;
These automated systems are there purely to make it cheaper for the business you are calling. Never mind all the cobblers about "in order to serve you better, please press the next series of 12 buttons..." YOU are paying for the company to be able to operate with a minute number of operators/call handlers. By the time you've got through you have answered most of the questions yourself. But - did you get a discount when the company changed over to automated answering? Of course not. This is yet another Americanised method of squeezing every last penny out of us. Scrap the whole lot!!
Anger Night! 3:59pm on 27 Mar 2009 What makes me angry is all the stuff we've been hearing about with the so-called credit crunch.
Because the BBC is state controlled, and because the other news channels are commercially controlled, there is no truly independant news media prepared to campaign for the punishment suited to this massive crime. Instead, we are forced to witness the biggest theft of public money - and worse, the sanctioning of even more public money to be paid to the thieves who started all this in the first place!!
Brown, Cameron and co are all part of the problem. The BBC, or a truly independant news medium should be campaigning to get rid of all these criminals.
Oh, and while we're about it, lets have a Constitution. Even the most backward countries manage to get one of those - and I don't mean the tricky-dicky thing that Straw is punting!!

Newsnight Review: Is TV doomed? 4:33pm on 13 Mar 2009 The rash of competitive TV programmes is enough to convince me that TV is at least moribund. The BBC suffers from its own charter when it comes to making "edgy" programmes, because it cannot be seen to be anything but impartial. So, we have drippy "investigations" on puerile things like Watchdog, instead of biting, hard-hitting tele-journalism exposing the many, many corrupt organisations we have in the UK.
Lloyds and HBOS humbled 10:39pm on 20 Feb 2009 Humbled? I don't see any of the fat cats volunteering - or even being told to pay the money back!
First Septic Bank (revisited) 1:22pm on 17 Jan 2009 The spin doctors are at it again. Expressions such as "credit crunch", "toxic debt" etc., etc., are, as far as I'm concerned ways of trying to soften the horrendous plight that those greedy pigs who caused the problem, placed most of the world in.
Brown and co., gave our money to the banks, and now the banks won't do what they were asked to do; lend OUR money back to US.
Didn't Browns advisors make it a condition of the bail-out? Were there no guarantees undertaken by the banks to honour the agreement - or else?
I know that if I wanted to be bailed out a humongous debt, the bank would tie me up in so much red tape, I couldn't move without their approval, much less refuse to honour the agreement!!
So please, lets hear less about struggling banks, and more about fundamental greed and dishonesty. Less about bail-outs, and more of criminals being given bail - or not.

Your stories of unemployment 11:41pm on 08 Jan 2009 I have MCIPD and am Prince2 accredited. I have been unemployed since I was made redundant at the end of August 2007 (Thats not a misprint).
I blame employment agencies for their ageist policies. I am 63, and have received no replies from jobs I would have walked into when I was 40. How do they find out my age? You have to produce "evidence" of your UK status - something with your age on it, like a passprot. Then there are the "equality and diversity" forms. What do they ask? Well, your age, amongst all the other stuff. Scrap al these so-called anti-discrimination laws, and lets at least have some honesty around here!!
