I enjoyed your Valencia diary and I guess you must struggle to condense the whole day into a few paragraphs but the pics do help. My feeling re Rubens winning is the same a Martin's if the tyres had been ready Lewis would have been able to defend his position however it would have been close and therefore were robbed of some much needed drama.

I'm still not a Ledgie fan however he is growing on me slowly and is kind of in the same mould of Murrey Walker in terms of constantly getting drivers/cars confused.

My one moan and this is directed at the bbc web team is that why the morning after the race were the championship standings not updated to represent the points scored by the drivers? Especially when itv had theirs updated minutes after the race... It's frustrating because there have been numerous instances where data like full practice listins and fuel corrected grids haven't been quickly available so I keep finding myself going back to the itv web page when I would rather not.

On a positive note I am looking forward to Spa and who is going to be the most competative out of Red Bull, Brawn and McLaren with maybe Kimi being the dark horse.
F1 battle lines are drawn 10:23pm on 15 May 2009 Ok my turn! Firstly Benson you are talking rubbish! That statement of F1 cannot live without Ferrari is wrong!!!!!!!!!! You are basically saying that Ferrari are F1 and therefore can decide how F1 should be run. The old saying that no player is bigger than the team should be changed to possibly no team is above the rules... Ferrari are just a team like Lotus were and many other famous F1 teams that no longer compete in so what is the BIG deal? Ferrari are 2nd class in my eyes because like Mr Lamborghini said I started to make sports cars because Ferrari's were too slow!!! So my view is Ferrari, Renault, Toyota and Red Bull can go race in whatever format they fancy racing in and we can have some new teams come in there place in a much more balanced and fair F1 where MONEY cannot by success! Sounds fantastic to me!!!
Battle rages over F1 future 7:20pm on 12 May 2009 They have thrown their toys out again. Suprise suprise! Well let them go F1 will happilly continue without them... At the end of the day F1 has lost so many famous teams over the years so why should people be upset if Ferrari go? The true reason why Ferrari are issuing this ultimatum is that they would be forced to produce a car that they cant throw money at if they haven't got it right... Look at the way they reacted to the double diffuser that Brawn, Toyota and Williams use. Surely Red Bull is living proof that it wasn't just down to the diffuser and from Ferrari's perspective its just sour grapes.
Why SPOTY is moving to Sheffield 09:16am on 30 Apr 2009 I suppose you could call this a double coup for Sheffield by winning SPOTY and retaining the Snooker world champs. I guess this is good for Sheffield but unfortunately after last years disgusting bias towards the Olympics I will sadly for the first time in my 35 years of existence will not be watching it. I used to look forward to SPOTY mainly because there was always indepth reviews of the football and F1 season but last year we had Man Utd conquer Europe and Lewis Hamilton winning his first F1 crown and they barely got a mention. All SPOTY seemed interested in was cycling, swimming and yatching which seemed to be fulfilling some form of government mandate to give the atheletes all the air time. I understand the BBC has to be PC and give a fair coverage of all sports but I think the scales were tipped way too far in one direction!

To be honest I was shocked, disapointed and dismayed by the blatent ignorance of very high profile sports in SPOTY 08 that in my eyes should take precidence over some posh bloke sailing around a big pond every 4 years.

I dont expect this to be published but I hope someone at the BBC may actually understand my frustrations and take heed. I honestly do not know one person either at work or in my social circles that actually approved of SPOTY 2008.
