Conflict of party and private lifestyles 3:05pm on 10 Jun 2009 This happen in many countries, including in the US. But only in China can the people criticize the government for it and actually get listened to by the government.

Now..now Senlin, nobody will ask those questions to Chinese politicians coz they do have their background of expertise to back up their positions unlike your politicians. Make you wonder if your politicians can persuade others if they don't even understand what they're talking about. That's why the west lag behind the east today, they only know how to talk. That's what NATO is, No Action Talk Only.
What do people in China do with a day off? 1:37pm on 01 Dec 2008 What I love the most from China is the park. Young and old, rich and poor, officials and peasants, they're all gathering there to socialize and to exercise. What a great atmosphere.
Update: Wo Weihan 4:19pm on 28 Nov 2008 If he was a Chinese spy executed by Taiwan, I'm sure no western government will complain. The same when the western journalists don't care when Taiwan ban mainland artists from performing in Taiwan, even though China allow Taiwan artists to perform in China. The truth is, Mr. Wo is a traitor to his country and he deserved his fate according to Chinese law. Just because his daughter feel angry, doesn't make his daddy clean.
The Deal 11:11am on 25 Nov 2008 At least Chinese leadership in better position than Obama. China still have 8-9% growth and surplus fiscal year. Now compare that to what Obama will inherit from Bush and his predecessors.
Does history favour freedom? 04:31am on 22 Nov 2008 Why do westerners have to see everything from military perspective? I will tell you what happen when every body is chasing the same resources. Those who has the cash and willing to pay more will get the resources, not those with bigger gun.

Will China become a democracy? It depends on Chinese people themselves. Will they want it? What kind of democracy they want? like the one in America? or limited democracy like in Japan or Singapore? Chinese people have to choose for themselves. We don't want somebody force their ideas of democracy on us, like what happened to Iraqis and Afghanis.
Forced convergence of China and US 11:44am on 12 Nov 2008 Why blame the cheap money from China? If you learn about economics and finance, you will learn that low interest debt is a blessing. Nope, it is not China's fault that we're in today's crisis. It was what we did with the debts that we're ended in today's situation. When you borrow money not to invest but to consume and wars, bad thing bound to happen sooner or later.
Comparing China and Cuba 4:53pm on 03 Nov 2008 China and Cuba "portrayed" their predecessor regimes as corrupted? The word portrayed sounds like it is not true. Come on James, be honest, Chiang and Batista regimes were indeed corrupted. That is the truth. Even one of KMT generals found out there is communist spy in their ranks because that spy was different than his other colleagues, the spy was not corrupted.

As which ways will win? I think Deng Xiao Ping has the answer already. No matter black or white cat, as long as it can catch a mouse, it is a good cat. The point is to have the balance here between capitalistic economy and socialist welfare of the people.
Spending on China's credit card 6:20pm on 30 Sep 2008 Well, if US can't absorb Chinese goods anymore, then it is time for China to focus on Asia and other emerging markets in general, and its own domestic market specifically. As where to invest all those savings? Where else if not your own country and countries that are friendly to you?
Freedom in China 12:57pm on 04 Aug 2008 Basically the Chinese want to be democratic in a Chinese way and in a Chinese pace. Why can't the Amnesty understand that? Amnesty International only represented the views of couple hundreds people among a billion more people in China. Even if you want to compare with other nations, China is still much freer than others. For example, sure Bangladesh is democratic, but can you say Bangladeshi have more freedom in internet than the Chinese? Heck, if you don't even have internet connection, how can you have more freedom in the Internet?
