This is an election broadcast by the all new and friendly Labour Party.

Just to let you know I am going to end the skirmish in Afghanistan"
GB Waits for round of applause.
"First troops will be gone" and on way home by May 2010"

There is nothing like the sound of silence.
It must be April Fools day again.
Afghanistan a vote winner, with so many of our brave soldiers not coming home alive.

Now we have Browns speech on Afghanistan and his so called way to bring the troops home.
So let us look at this speech and what Gordon was really saying.
Gordon speaking, I face a general election in six months time or less if I can make the decision to choose the date.
I need policy that will help me win a second term for New/Old Labour.
Ah I have a plan and telling my electorate I am bringing the boys home must be a vote winner.
Ah, yes call a summit in London with the leaders of Nato, my pals and friends and get some good publicity. I cant wait to shake all those world leaders hands, such good publicity.
Hold the talks in London and make some big announcement that will say "Yes my troops, sorry our troops are coming home gradually starting in May 2010, good timing with a general election.
Oh the people of London will have to put up with and shut up a big demon stration by the anti lobby, but after my announcement I will be a winner.
June 2010 I meet the queen to ask her to allow me GB Elected Prime Minister to form, the next government.
July 2010, sorry due to the increased fighting we have had to delay the return of our troops.
Cant win them all.

Brown is finished and has been for a long time.
Clutching at straws on this one I think Nick.
The other problem Labour or is it New/old Labour is something that as yet no one can answer until the General Election.
What will be in the Tory Manifesto. Quite rightly Team Cameron are keeping things very close to ones chest, and this is good because it also keeps Labour guessing.
So put quite simply Nick, would you or anybody stand for leadership of the Labour Party, knowing already you are onto a thrashing, and what has Team Cameron up their sleeves.
Why should DC say and do anything when Labour are doing all the work for him. You say people don't know what he stands for. That is just a pathetic excuse or just wishful thinking that it may help defeat him.
Nick, enjoy the next six months with all of this, as we the British Citizen continue to suffer under Gordon Browns poor leadership.
Gordon Brown and the military 1:29pm on 13 Nov 2009 I have little sympathy for GB as you only have to look back a few years ago when he was Chancellor of the Exchequer, and what did he do, cut the defence budget.
He cannot have it both ways. If you are passionate (Brown word)about something you don't fight against it.
Sorry for him no,but some sympathy for what he has to do with regards to every lost soldier. Death is so final, and not one of us should make political gain out of any persons death.

I still go back to comments I made some months back.
GB will stand down early in the new year under the ill health plan.
1. Gordon needs to take a break due to the continueing eye problems which have shown some deterioration.
2. Election for new Labour Leader (this is speak for Prime Minister) will take place with a result to be announced after the Easter break.
3. New leader (Prime Minister) annnounced in a fan fare of delight and warmth (spin)
4. General Election will either take place in May or June after the Labour election team have put in place the programme required for a victory (spin or manifesto)
5. The election is won by Labour and the new king is crowned.
6. Who will it be, now Nick you know that one already!!!
7 The country has new hope and optimism and we start 5 more wonderful years of New/Old/resurrected Labour and we all live happily ever after.
8. Then of course the world will end as we know it.
Oh Nick, don't tell me this is not true!

Just in case you have missed something we have a general election in approximately 7-8 months, so the Labour (sorry new Labour) spin machine will grab at anything to spin a bad story.
Just in case try looking no further than Lord, whatever his damn name is Mandleson.

Having read the first 13 comments posted I do have to say that I must have been listening to a different speech, because the interpretation from some on here are just plain stupid or they must be deaf.
Sorry, but it riles me that some people cannot even offer sensible debate.
A massive electoral gamble 2:24pm on 06 Oct 2009 It is amazing how many people respond by using the spin words of Labour about not trusting a Tory and how evil they are and will be.
So at least George Osborne told us it is going to hurt and all of us will feel the effects. That at least is what I would call shared responsibility and acceptance of the problem we have.
Do not forget that prior to the Banking crisis we as a country already had a huge debt and it was still growing. The Banking crisis just made it worst. Labour blame the banking crisis for all of the debt we have. that is just blatant lies.
So for all of those people who shout about how the Labour Party have given us sound financial management, just go back one year and you will see we were in it up to our necks, courtesy of Labours need to SPEND, SPEND AND SPEND, so much so that now it is like a drug and they cannot fix the habit.Sorry New Labour or whatever you are it's time to go as this massive problem needs to be taken seriously and tackled quickly.
A lot to be said for getting over the pain as quick as possible. R.I.P. Labour.

I heard the speech and to be honest it made me nearly sick.
Sick of him, sick of GB, sick of the lot of them.
One can only hope that the earth opens up and swallows the lot of them for what they have done to this once fine country.
The Obama and Gordon card 10:33am on 24 Sep 2009 Nick, For several days I have been coming to the conclusion that all the little stories that have been leaking abaout Gordon Brown have one particular reason.
Is it possible with stories now abour Browns lack of eyesight, final bash around the world leaders etc, that at the Labour Conference he is going to announce he is standing down due to health reasons.
Nick this announcement would overshadow the Tory Conference and of course the news will be dominated by Labour Leadership contest.
With Labour in a desperate position in the polls is this the likely outcome next week? or is GB that mad that he cannot see his demise.
Good or bad thoughts Nick?
