After your stints on Football Focus etc I was in utter dismay when I saw that you had bagged the BBC F1 gig. I just saw the same disasters waiting to happen.
But I've been really impressed with not only your presenting but your blogging too. I'm sure this has already been suggested but is there any chance of putting all your blogs into a book [or something similar] as an accompaniment to the the 2009 season? So far it's been a cracking read. Well done. Roll on Japan.

You say the head of television sport said there was going to be 'a bit of a shake-up in football'. I assume he was talking about the game in general as Garth Crooks still remains on the BBC roster. A real shame. The perfect opportunity to replace him.

I think the ten facts about Colchester United summed it up...there were only eight.

No instant impact from Hauritz 7:40pm on 25 Jun 2009 Having watched the Australian's series against South Africa(2) and India I'm so pleased, as an Englishman, that Hauritz was selected.
Jason Krejza is Australia's best spin bowler by a street, plus he can bat.
How they've got stuck with Hauritz amazes me. In fact, I'm even more amazed that Bryce McGain was given a chance [proper village].
Krejza is a threat, as he proved against India in batting friendly conditions.
Hauritz holds up an end - and leaks runs. Badly.
David Warner was called up for Australia[albeit for the Twenty20 side] before he played for his state side [NSW] because he has clear talent and was worth looking at.
Hauritz doesn't get into the NSW side for the opposite reason. He just isn't very good.
I predict Marcus North[if selected] will pose more of a spin threat than Hauritz. In fact, I'd goes as far to say North bowls more overs than poor Nathan.

the 1991/1992 season saw colchester & wycombe locked together in the conference fighting for a return to league football. the u's player/manager at the time, roy mcdonough, used every opportunity to stoke the rival between the clubs, players & supporters. ultimately, both clubs ended 21 points clear of the rest of the division with colchester gaining promotion on the final day of the season by way of a superior goal difference. that same season colchester also lifted the fa trophy with a 3-1 win against witton albion - the match marked the first goal scored by an american at wembley (mike masters of colchester). and to top it off colchester also won 2-1 at wymcombe in the league by virture of an injury time goal from their goalkeeper scott barrett....from inside his own penalty area.
