Brown's audience with Obama yesterday was covered by the New York Times in Section A, page 10. The page was shared with a story headed "Avoiding Pakistan, New Supply Route to Afghanistan Opens".
The arrest of Radovan Karadzic 10:24pm on 23 Jul 2008 I sincerely hope that Mr Lustig never leaves journalism for budgeting at the BBC !!!

Speaking with someone at The Hague this evening, Robin Lustig speaking of the mandate of the International Court of Justice said : "..mandate expires at the end of 2010. That is less than two years away".

Is he, or anybody else on the programme, aware of how poor his grasp of arithmetic appears to be ???

There has been no fraud at Société Générale. There has simply been deception and concealment (admittedly on a grand scale) with regard to significant losses by a dealer acting on behalf of the bank.

Deceiving one's employer about bad trading decisions taken on the employer's behalf is not a crime. It's probably a breach of one's contract of employment, and there could well be grounds for a civil action in addition to summary dismissal, but unless the offendng employee directly benefited from his actions, there is no fraud.
Kenny 6:05pm on 15 Jan 2008 I agreee with comment 11. The BBC researcher (who presumably set up the interview) should have reported that conducting an interview was not a good idea. As that didn't happen, Eddie Mair should have curtailede the interview shortly after it started, and it most definitely should NOT have been broadcast. Kenny Richey needs to be left alone by all the press for quite some time.

Comparisons with the recent interview with Nick Yarris are nto relevant, as Yarris has had years to adjust to regaining hsi freedom.

Unfortunately tabloid values are alive and well at the BBC.
