Plain and simple? 7:09pm on 28 May 2008 It is unacceptable that the people in the UK who live closest to the oil reserves pay the most for it at the pumps.

I see there is a programme on next Wednesday (4th June), on BBC1 at 10.45pm entitled 'Truth, Lies, Oil and Scotland', which the R.T. advises will study the role of NSO in the economy and politics of Scotland since 1975.

Here's hoping for a full and balanced analysis, which gets into the nitty-gritty of the McCrone cover-up, and how the Scottish public have been lied to by successive UK Governments about the value of NSO, etc.

Thankfully, they seem to be sticking to their manifesto, and may I say, sticking to being serious and adult about it.

Not just any referendum 4:39pm on 08 May 2008 Is it possible the making up of this policy on the hoof to support a referendum last Sunday only happened because Wendy was caught out mid-swoon looking into big Glenn Campbell's eyes? I'd go 50 - 50.

Going back to Sunday and the Sunday Mail piece that Glenn thrust at Wendy, just before she went on the hoof, the headline was: Brown Thinks Indy Vote Can Stop Salmond Bandwagon.

This seems to have been forgotten in the melee of events that have happened since.

On Sunday morning in Labour's tabloid mouthpiece, this was being touted as Brown's opinion.

Even although I am shocked by the coverage of this issue in the Daily Record this week I know I shouldn't be, I still feel I have to say that if the situation was reversed an it was the SNP imploding, it would be front page and quite a few pages within type coverage, rather than the second page non-descript effort offered up on this Labour implosion.

I had such a lot of time for the Record and Mail in the 1980's, standing up for Scotland to the tories/Maggie, and then they did have the wonderful Angus Og by Ewen Bain.

Of course I have since realised that they were not standing up for Scotland, they were instead standing up for the Labour Party.

The fact that they still choose to do so in times such as these is such a disappointment.
