Czech president swallows bitter pill 6:16pm on 03 Nov 2009 It is unfortunate that Cameron will likely have to pick up the peices, although I suspect that UKIP will now really be a force to be reckoned with at the next General election. Indeed they could cost the Conservatives the election.

What I find absolutely unforgiveable is the wanton attitude of Labour and the despicable Blair, Brown and Mandelson. Thye have sold this country down the drain to the EU in return for what: the promise of a few jobs for them and their cronies when they are thrown out of UK politics (God willing make it soon).

It makes them all traitors in my opinion, both to the UK and to the concept of demoncracy. How much more damage can they do?
Alan Bown and Michael Brown - spot the difference(s) 12:45pm on 20 Oct 2009 Is, perchance, the EU funding the prosecution of UKIP? It certainly seems a disgraceful example bias and partisanship. Is there anything stopping Mr Bown 'receiving' the £363,697 back from UKIP and immediately giving it back as a legal donation by someone now on the electoral register?
Map of the Week: Cheese 10:44am on 05 Oct 2009 Some British cheeses are the greatest in the world. Thank heavens for the likes of the late Major Patrick Rance and the crew at Neal's Yard Diary who have put British Cheeses back on the map. A great Stilton, 2+ year old unpastuerized cheddars, Lancashire, Leicestershire, Single & Double Gloucester, Caerphilly, Cheshire, Swaledaleand many others all take some beating. Congratulations to all our chees champions, but what a pity that supermarkets are so useless with cheese. Those that try over-refrigerate it. There are far too few good cheeses shops in the UK; probably only six in London. In France there will be one or two in every small town plus the markets.
Size matters for this pride of Lions 10:07am on 22 Apr 2009 One hopes that the Lions won't run out of gas at 5000 to 6000 feet, the height at which the last two tests are being played.
Cabrera's tenacity makes the difference 09:47am on 13 Apr 2009 Great Masters very exciting. well done Cabrera. Pity about Gary Linekar's dreadfully inane commentary. Please drop him from Golf tournaments. Let him stick to soccer.
