A new day, a new wonder 02:03am on 21 Aug 2009 culopeloso, I would agree with you, it is by no means a formality but this isn't a regular sprinter. He already has a 400m pb of 45.28 a couple of years ago, which is only half a second of being in the 400m final. He ran 400m as a junior and said before that he wants to run that distance so i certainly wouldn't bet against him. I never thought I'd see mj 200m go but usain has taken 0.13sec off it. For him to tackle the 400m though i don't think he can do the 100m at the same time.

Scheduling in major tournament will probably be the only thing that stops him winning every sprint event in the next decade including possibly the 400m. 9.5 and 19 sec are both within his range.

I can understand the argument you make from a tactical war perspective but hindsight is a great thing. It was only more humane to US soldiers not to the people who were caught up in the war. You have to look beyond war tactics to see the effect of that drop. Stand at the memorial in Hiroshima and you will just know it was a bad decision. Not only Japanese died in that blast, 20,000 innocent koreans were also killed and many families that could of escaped any battle were killed.
Saying all this, I do wonder what would of happened if General McArthur had got his way and used the bomb on the Yalu River during the Korean War.

I have mixed views about loan signings. They can be useful, especially when giving youngsters experience but I think in the long terms it makes it harder to climb up the league, especially in the premiership.
If you're a club like Hull or West Brom your long term goal has to be to win the title (maybe very long term goal) so taking players like Ben Foster or Manucho and giving them valuable experience is making your goal more difficult.
If clubs stopped loaning from bigger clubs then maybe players would decide to leave and join the smaller clubs. It stems from the fact that players don't come through the leagues any more but are snapped up so young.
Saying this I like the loan with view to move deals.
The flight to quality 12:17pm on 22 Jan 2009 In reality 14m a year isn't really that much. Didn't United spend that this month on two pretty unknown Serbians. I know Utd have other sponsors like Seoul Council (not really sure what they get out of it).

I'm not saying they should turn this money down but I'm sure other streams of income are far more important.
An Atlantic League would sink SPL 08:54am on 30 Dec 2008 An Atlantic League would not only spell the end of Scottish football but also the Portuguese, France, Dutch and any other league that is invited.

Any league without the best teams becomes farcical. Porto and Lyon have shown that it's not the league that is the big issue here. It's the fact that the Premiership, La Liga and Serie A have far too much money be it from the media or anywhere.

When will UEFA put out plans to restrict wages and stupid money in the big leagues? I know people will say the clubs have all the power but the fans should support a proposal for the sake of levelling things out. The Real Madrids and Milans will always attract the best players but it gives teams a more level playing field.
