The Beach. 2:44pm on 24 Nov 2009 Preston, how many times do you need to be told that Fisherman's Friend is not a sweet - Yurgh! the very thought of it!
The Beach. 2:30pm on 24 Nov 2009 Just as well, Preston, as there are already far too many humbugs on the Blog. Other sweets that are frequently represented: Refreshers (regular bloggers), Walnut Whips (for those with a preference for S & M - as opposed to those with a preference for M & Ms, who tend to be more hardcore ;o)), Tuttifruttis (you never quite know what to expect with them, but it's usually pretty off the wall), Sherbet fountains (who tend to fizz all over the place), and Aniseed drops (a rare breed, but worth waiting for as they're very good on the harp).

If I was a sweet I'd be a .........Cough Candy.

Do NOT laugh 09:38am on 24 Nov 2009 Barry Cryer is a comedy genius - think of all the comedy shows and comedians who have benefited from his writing: Morecambe and Wise, Tommy Cooper, Kenny Everett, Stanley Baxter, Dick Emery, Dave Allen, Frankie Howard, both Ronnies, and the list goes on.

And in the flesh he is also very funny - I've been fortunate enough to see him live on several shows. He's also a nice man.

Paddy O'Connell, however, must have been Mr. Cryer's greatest challenge. He's even had Eddie corpsing in the past, so I think Barry came out of this encounter pretty well.

Btw, it is lovely to see Paddy performing. Those twinkly eyes and big smile. However, I'm wondering if he's still cycling as much these days? ;o)
