BNP's 'hang generals' just 'humour' 9:17pm on 20 Oct 2009 The BNP on Question Time? Bring it on! If the BNP website is any indicator, it should be a laugh a minute - having looked at it for the first time, tonight, I truly laughed at the rabid articles and illiterate, error strewn comments - it's more South Park than political party.

As a reviewer might say of a book 'A rollicking good read, a laugh a minute, just the thing for a dull October evening. Suspend reality and enjoy!'

I don't really understand why anyone could fear the BNP - they are mere caricatures, more to be treated with amusement than anything else.
Ferdinand must sharpen up 10:02pm on 10 Oct 2009 There is, clearly, something very wrong with Rio; whether it's a confidence issue or a physical problem, I'm not sure. He's 31 next month, not old, but I agree with #1, that it is possibly the time to retire from internationals.

He could teach some of the current arrivistes, at all clubs, a lesson in how to conduct themselves, on and off the pitch.

You addressed all the points I was about to raise, particularly with regard to this NOT being another 'tapping-up' case. When players are tapped-up, the selling club may feel, rightly, aggrieved - but at least they receive a transfer fee. In this case, Chelsea induced the player to breach his contract, instead of negotiating (or attempting to) with the player's club. Read the official FIFA release:

Get a Pure Highway, plugs into the cigarette lighter in your car and converts the car radio to DAB. Aggers and Jacqui Oatley, amongst others, have used them and reckon they're great - you can pick one up for about under £60.

Trott gallops his way into England hearts 1:10pm on 23 Aug 2009 I never fail to be astonished by the breathtaking rudeness of some posters - whilst knowing full well that these same offensive people would NEVER treat someone in the same way face-to-face. So, effectively, they are cowards, hiding behind anonymity.

As for Trott - he was calm, assured and had the confidence to wait for the runs; I have no doubt he will become a fixture in the England team.

Thanks for some unknown (to me, at least!) insights, Anna - I bet his Grandad didn't have to buy his own pints in a pub in Chislehurst last night!

Test Match Special 9:59pm on 19 Aug 2009 Mark, re TMS and Sky not being in perfect sync - if you listen to TMS on DAB radio and watch Sky on the normal channel (non HD) they are *close* to perfect sync.
