Paradox of bank bailout 2:33pm on 21 Nov 2008 TO nationalise the entire British banking system would not work. Imagine that the British banking system is the Kellogs range of cereals. It would be like making Snap Crackle and Pop the mascots of every cereal. What about Tony the Tiger? Or Coco the monkey for example, who has already been replaced by Snap Crackle and Pop as the face of Coco Pops in the USA.

It causes panic and unfamiliarity, just like people can't face to eat their favourite cereals now due to the chaos of a mascot change, people would have a run on the banks if they were nationalised.
A very sorry banker 7:10pm on 20 Nov 2008 Take the huge losses by these institutions, now imagine that these losses are like a farmer who has sowed seeds in this case mortgages. Now the customers are the seeds, and the crop has been hit by the potato blight.

The harvest is disappointing now and the banks are having to get by on whatever scraps are left, along with aid from the government yet like aid given to poor countires, its only a one off fix. Give a bank some chips he can eat for one day, give a man some potatoes he can eat for a year.

I agree. Cameron needs to sharpen his political machete if he wants to cut through the vines and thicket of the political jungle, as the constant bickering and being at odds with the government's economic policy whatever the decision, only debilitates him, giving him the demeanour of a political Scott of the Antarctic, good intentions, but ultimately beaten by lack of preparation and a relaxe dattitude.

Indeed he is almost seen as a political Dennis the Menace, as opposed to the fresh face he used to be, and the constant bashing of Labour showing only an act of political bullying giving him the new image of a political nasty.

However, the problem is that only the banks themselves have the nutcracker and therefore are the only parties with access to the creamy centre of lower rates, while everyone else scratches at the hard shell, with no nutcracker at hand.
