It's FMQs, stupid 6:56pm on 29 Oct 2009 Even if minimum pricing turned out to be 'bad for business', so what!!

It's going to be GOOD for HEALTH and GOOD for SOCIETY in terms of safer City Centre streets at the weekends and LESS work for Courts and Prison staff who will have less 'clients' to deal with thanks to low quality, high grade alcohol being priced out of easy access.

Mr Gray and co should give a thought to that instead of making cheap political points.

Tonight in an interview with BBC's David Porter they spoke merrily about the 'Scottish Executive'.

Either they weren't aware of the name change or they deliberately wanted to downgrade the Scottish Government by calling it the Scottish 'Executive'.

Either way, not a lot of respect shown their David old bean.
Paper trail 1:00pm on 30 Sep 2009 A Labour bashing, neutral to the SNP Sun would still be a major asset to the SNP.

This will be a terrible blow to the psyche of the average Labour foot soldier and will keep tens of thousands of Labour voters at home whilst others drift even nearer towards voting SNP.
'Labour's lost it,' says the Sun 01:59am on 30 Sep 2009 Nick you should have mentioned that the Sun isn't backing the Tories in Scotland, as you did on TV tonight, that's very significant.

It will be a boost to the SNP if the Sun remains neutral in Scotland in terms of support but continues to chip away at Labour and a real boost if it supports the SNP as it has done in the past.

Shame the Scottish BBC politicos don't have your sense of professional balance when reporting Nick, their unionist(London Labour) bias is legendary.

Where next on Megrahi? 12:50pm on 25 Aug 2009 My favourite expression regarding the opposition is Synchronised Howling at the Moon. I should add the word Meaningless, because when we see American tourists being interviewed in Edinburgh we see calm people telling us they are having a great time in Scotland and this won't affect whether they come back or not.

REAL voters, unlike we nerds, were apparently flocking to an SNP stall in Lochgelly on Sunday and just about cleaned the stall out of saltires.

So all these Americans ripping up their tourist guides to Scotland and all these Scots ripping up their SNP membership cards and scraping SNP badges off their car windows and presumably rushing towards British nationalist Parties to pledge their support.....

....all of these are figments of some very fevered imaginations.

As for those savage 'attacks' on MacAskill yesterday, the words Healey, Howe and dead sheep spring immediately to mind.

If anything, MacAskill and the SNP are coming out of this stronger than before, demonstrating that they are more than capable of conducting themselves well on the world stage.

Keeping time 5:55pm on 02 Jul 2009 You might reflect on what fun it might be to begin reporting the news as it is and without your usual British Nationalist bias for a change.
