Why don't you contribute to the debate instead of directing your obvious frustration towards some one you don't know. Have you just sat on this page for the last 3 hours pushing F5? Name a England midfielder who is better form than Huddlestone, who isn't already in the England set-up. Name me a player who has better range of passing and technique. If you can, legitamely, then you can start dishing out that sort of tripe. I noticed earlier you would put Carrick on the plane? Are YOU a Man Utd fan? He has been dire this season and the last and is hugely overrated.
Woodgate is a quality player and injuries stunted his England career when he was getting a look in. Obviously I can't be unbiased but I rate him him above Upson. He doesn't make errors, he is experienced at the highest levels. He is faster, better technically than Upson, always gives 100%, so why shouldn't he be on the plane.
You seem to forget that Upson has been part of a defence that has leaked goals, left, right and centre all season. Also I stated in my original post that I DON'T think King should go, yet you berated me nonetheless.
Also I can have a go at the BBC as much as I want, they take 130 pounds off me every year! Second to the taxman!

NO PLAYERS DID THEMSELVES A SERVICE IN THIS GAME!!!
People on here are saying that Bent didn't get the service, well he should have gone looking for the ball then. He can't just blame poor service, he should have changed to play with his back to goal to move England further up the pitch, like Fabiano. Bent just proved how unadaptable he really is. When he did get the ball his touch let him down. Defoe is shoe-in ahead of Bent because he can change a game with a moment of magic and offers so much more than him, he works off the ball, can dribble at speed at players and is a threat from outside the box.
Milner saw a lot of the ball and had no invention. NO ONE, NO ONE can beat a player like Lennon or Joe Cole in the England team. Milner is an honest hard-working player but so was David Batty...
I thought Brown was awful as was Upson, Lescott, Barry, Rooney all did ok. SWP saw a lot of the ball and showed some nice touches, one good cross, little else.
For me the squad at the current time going to SA should be

I am really worried about the LM position but I suppose under Capello we don't play with a wide man on that side but a combination of Rooney and Gerrard.
I have changed my mind about Beckham, I believe he should be on the plane. Also note the exception of Heskey, the man is a pile of dross.
Woodgate, technically, is Englands third best CB because King is so injury prone. Huddlestone has been in excellent form and offers something different in the middle and at the moment is playing better than Carrick, although I admit if Hargreaves is fit, he HAS TO BE on the plane. Also I suppose you could take Richards out of there if Capello wants to take another midfielder.
Button, Barrichello & Vettel: my take on the title rivals 12:24pm on 17 Oct 2009 I've said it before and I'll say it again, for those people who seem to have only been watching F1 since Lewis Hamilton began, which seems to be most of the people on here, Button has never had a good car. Now he has had a good car this year for 40% of the championship and he has pretty much won, barring a disaster. How is that not the sign of a great driver? If Button had been in a McClaren or Ferrari, I'm sure he would have won a title, post Schumacher, who is IMHO untouchable as the greatest ever.
Hamilton was spoon fed 2 amazing cars in his 1st 2 years and I'm sorry to say won the title because Timo Glock broke down on the last lap.
Button has won in car which has a tenth of the budget of teams like McClaren, Ferrari and Red Bull. He's finished in the points in all but one of the GPs. The best and most consistent car this season has been the Red Bull but Vettel couldn't step it up when it mattered which is why he doesn't deserve to be champion yet.
Capello's World Cup contenders 2:25pm on 15 Oct 2009 I can't believe people are even questioning Crouch. He has the Aerial threat, hold up play and good finishing that we need. He simply HAS to be in the team.
Heskey should not go simply because if we get one chance in a game and it falls to him we will lose.
Becks and Owen should be left at home. By taking Beckham you limit the squad. What happens if the other right winger gets injured eh? Do you expect Beckham to turn out a full 90mins game after game?-No
Owen is past it and Defoe is a better player now anyway and is starting games and scoriing goals.
Hargreaves, if fit, MUST go. He is unique because unlike Barry he won't just 'cover' he will actively go and win the ball. Not only that he has the free kick ability, is more versatile and can go for the full 90 non-stop. Carrick should not be on the plane.
Defensively I think Capello will pick the usual back 4, with support from Wayne Bridge, Upson and here we go this is my outside shout-Micah Richards. The guy is class and can play at CB or LB. Other people with an outside chance is Ledley King(Englands 2nd best centre half) although he is injury prone but who else would you rather have standing in for Rio or Terry in the WC semis or final eh?
Lennon if he continues this form should be on the plane. He was exceptional against Crotia and actually has not been given the chance to complete a full 90 minutes by Fabio. Again on the left if Joe Cole is fit and playing even OK he is picked ahead of Milner, all the time. Also what about Jermaine Jenas, he's always played well for England and is performing in a good Spurs side currently. Offers the box to box play against tired teams and can finish and keep it simple.

Capello can plot World Cup glory 09:26am on 10 Sep 2009 I'm sorry but we have every right to be excited. We thrashed a team which has supposedly been in the top 10 in the world for the last 4 years. It could have been 7 or 8 to England and the Crotia goal was offside, terrific save to keep out the Eduardo header then the player following up was offside so a bad lino cost us the goal.
Very impressed with Gerrard and Lampard combo, which works well with Barry sitting. Ver impressed with Lennon, who can mix it up on the right now and who makes teams double up on him, allowing the full back and/or striker more freedom. Impressed with Terry as well from last night.
Disappointed with Heskey. It's a fallacy to say that Heskey played well last night. He wasn't invovled in the build-up to any of the goals, looked jaded and uninterested at times, I think he lost more headers than he won and fluffed 2 chances that my gran on her zimmerframe could have put away. Beckham will always be trophy that England wheel out, a bit like Cannavaro at Juve, he has no pace and often the team has to accomodate him.
Carlton Cole, providing he has a good season, is a no-brainer up-front instead of Heskey at WC2010. Defoe will be a sub, unfortunately but that is Capello's way.
All in all a terrific night and after these qualifying campaign I would put England 3 favourites behind Brazil and Spain. Ahead of Germany, Holland etc. Don't forget a weakened England team went to Berlin last year and beat Germany. Don't forget that we drew 2-2 with Holland away a couple of months ago and when we play them in a friendly in Nov at Wembley we will dross them up, mark my words.
Ponting left laughing as England get the script wrong 2:37pm on 10 Aug 2009 I think the issue here is not that the series is 1-1 but that the Aussies have outplayed us in 2 tests, while if the test at edgbaston had not had rain delays who's to say that the Aussies wouldn't have won that as well?
They will take all the momentum from this game into the next. England appear to have most of the Australian batsmen numbers' apart from Michael Clarke and Marcus North. Watch film of them playing and find out their weakness. These are the two players which stopped us from winning at Edgbaston and piled pressure onto us at Headingly. Clarke, in my opinion is a natural successor to Ponting as captain and will only improve.
We should drop Bell and Bopara as Colly and Prior (despite doing well), come in with too much pressure on them. I admit Colly has been short of form but he has proved before that he can do it against class teams whereas the other two haven't. Bring in Rob Key at 3 and perhaps Trott at 4? I'm not too sure about Trott and the selectors might have other options. Don't bring in Ramps please.
As for the Bowling we will need 4 seamers and one spinner. I reckon if you have Swann in as a bowler who can bat then why not swap him out for Rashid to see if he can do something a little different. Broad is a wicket taker and possibly could bat as high as 6th in my opinion. He will take crucial wickets and seems to be more accurate than the others at the moment.
Keep Onions in, hopefully Freddie will be fit if not bring in Sidebottom, who will offer consistency and pressure, and promote Broad. Anderson, if not fit will have to come out.

GK SCHWARZER Has probably been the best keeper all year, considering his rank in most fantasy games, #1
RB Jagielka, Has been immense all season.
CB King, probably the best defender outside the top IMO
CB Hangeland, has just been a giant this season, brilliant in the air.
LB Baines, was a tough decision as Konchesky has been great but I think that the Everton man has more to offer going foward, a future England LB.
RM Lennon, has outshone A.Young THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SEASON, young stopped playing in January which is why he can't be considered here.
CM Fellaini, goals have flown since he moved up the pitch, such a threat in the air and great effort put into every match
CM Palacios, because the team needs a holding player and I think with Fellaini in the team you don't need Gareth Barry. Plus he never stops running and is one of the best tacklers in the league
LM Modric, as he has greater all round ability than Arteta, his short passing game is almost as good as Fabregas' and his dribbling is better. Plus Arteta got injured a few months ago.
ST Carew, since Agbonglahor stopped scoring in November Carew is my choice as he offers link up play and a goal scoring threat
ST Bent, has scored as many goals in the Prem as Agbonglahor despite playing less minutes and has more goals in all competitions. I decided the strikers basically on stats, as Carew has a lot of assists as well.

So the damage is...
