Ancelotti strikes first blow 07:45am on 11 Aug 2009 I can understand why most of the people here are just waiting for a chance to get back at Ferguson, defending Ballack like he was Jesus himself.

Ballack admitted to having obstructed Evra. Ferguson said he doesn't blame the Chelsea players for having gone on to score. He even said that his own players would have probably done the same. But the fact that the referee is blind is something Fergie was not happy about. And all commentators, pundits, whatmenots are saying the same thing.

You guys accuse Fergie for standing up for his team and rubbishing other teams at a whim? Have a look at how biased your opinions are first.

Well done to Chelsea. They won the game on penalties and gave us one hell of a season opener against United. If only there were more players on either side like Rooney or Lampard or Terry or Fletcher who don't drop on the ground because of an extra gust of wind blowing their way.

I live in New Delhi, India. While the coverage of most elite European leagues is great and sometimes rather too overwhelming, especially that of the BPL (where is it not?), we get to watch only highlights of some spectacular goals from the leagues of South America.

Sad when you think that India boasts of the 2 oldest footballing clubs in the history of the sport, and the first ever professional football competition. I hope we get to watch more football from South America. Still it's always nice to hear what's going on through your articles.

As far as this debate is concerned, I don't think one can ever coin one player as the greatest in the world. But, one can definately see who the greatest in each position is.

If that is the debate, where would you put Pele, Maradona and Di Stefano in your team if you did have all three of them in your playing 11?
