Anfield's day of destiny 12:44pm on 24 Oct 2009 For all you ineducated fans, Benitez did not CHOOSE to sell owen, Owen REQUESTED to leave (same with alonso). No manager in there right mind would sell their star talisman especially a clever man like benitez. So not only did own request to leave, he joined our bitter rivals to add salt to our wounds so as far as im concerned, i hope the liverpool fans give him a torrid time tommorow and shatter his confidence so he never kicks a ball again!!
Liverpool must go for broke 00:03am on 14 Mar 2009 United to sit back and defend. They've played poorly for the first 20min+ of the last couple games so im expecting Liverpool to really up the tempo during this time and if liverpool nick a goal it could lead to more and i'd even be tempted to predict a 3-1 win. However, if liverpool do not concede, they will put pressure on the ball and try get gerrard and torres to link up and produce something special. If united score, lets just say Liverpool are comeback kings if they keep the patience otherwise if they don't they'll just capichilate and lose miserably. Watch out for KUYT though, as much as people critisize him, he always puts in a performance in the big games. Kuyt to score a STUNNER, mark my words....
Coming to Maradona's defence 5:51pm on 03 Nov 2008 You cant defend wrong with wrong. 2 Wrongs dont make a right. Maradonna is a cheat and a disgrace to football for what he done. As much as I respect your blog Tim, but to go out and defend a cheat is apalling. He cheated to help win a game and that's the only way to look at it. A gentleman footballer would take the dirty tackles and abuse on the chin (ie someone like Heskey) and not try find a way to go "evens" with the opposition.

Capello and Barwick suffer as England struggle 09:49am on 22 Aug 2008 I say get rid of all the dead wood and superstars and play modest players that will play with determination for succes of their country.

Bring in fresh young players that will be able to gel and grow up together in time to give the world cup in two years time a good fight and to seriosly contend for the euros in 4 years time becuase let's face it, England will never win a competition in the near future unless some drastic changes of personnal take place and the effectiveness of their play will not change over night, it needs time

Keepers: All the current GKs are simply not good enough and make too many mistakes. Blood keepers like Joe Hart and Ben Foster into the international scene and let them have control over the defence from a young age so the silly defensive mistakes can go away in the future although Foster really needs to find some 1st team footy to contend for an international place

Defence: Micah needs some more international starts at centre back to establish himself. Bring in Nedum Onuoha and give the lad a chance. Cole is a decent left back but someone like Baines or Shorey need to be given a chance to allow for exta competition

Midfeild: Lennon needs to get back to full fitness and force his way into the squad and be part of the 1st team. I agree with Capello for giving Bently the chance to shine although wether he has the quality and desire to play for england in years to come is still to be seen becasue he does seem to have an ego. Stewart Downing left mid?? Why hasnt he been given enough of a chance to fill that role?? I still dont understand. Hes natuarally left footed, can go past a player or two, has great delivery and his decision making is good too. He should be the long term option. Mark Noble and Michale Johnson are 2 great central midfeild talents coming up and should be given the chance to form a partnership with likes of Gerrard in the CM position so they can learn the trade international-wise off a quality player (i understand Gerrard hasnt been playing great for england recently, but just look at the no. of times hes being played out of postion and the contless occasions hes been played with the useless lampard who numbs gerrard out the game.) Walcott is young but should be given the chance sooner rather then later and asley young is an awseome propostion yet i dont think hes being valued highly enough simply becuase he doesnt have superstar status and doesnt play for one of the so called "big 4"

Up front: thers not much hope here i agree but as long as Owen gets back to full fitness, hes probably our best chance of getting goals especially as he should be arriving at his peak soon and should carry on for a good 4 years. Agbonlahor has amazing pace and this should be utilized in the international fold as theres too many slow options out there such as ashton and crouchy(although hes a good option for the bench) and this would allow a good attacking mid eg Rooney to play off him and thread some balls through providing agbonlahore matures more and can comfortbaly play as the last man.

Any talk of England not having enough good players coming through is absolute rubbish. The players mentioned above have amazing potential and if theyre given the chance to play and be guided alongside a few of the establishd first team players IE Ferdinand, Barry, Hargreaves, Gerrard, Cole, Rooney, Owen (no one else) i think they can be moulded into one of the best teams england have will ever produce. Whether that can be achieved remains to be seen as we need somebody to seriosly ring the changes and have the guts to get rid of the likes of James, A Cole, Terry, Brown, Carick, Lampard!!!, Beckam (sorry pal but its time to say goodbye), SWP, Defore etc becuase its well known these players amay be amazing individual footballers that play great for their clubs in the prem, they simply dont gel as a team and cant peform on the international stage becuase of their lack of intelligient play, desire and lack of technique.
