Will you pay for a Digital Britain? 12:41pm on 24 Sep 2009 At this moment in time i would refuse to pay such a tax. I've recently changed ISP from BT, to TalkTalk, and i'm still only getting download speeds up to 70kb at best from a 2meg line (it was only 20kb with BT!!!) If the speeds were to be improved, then i'd be happy to pay it, but not until something has been done. I accdept that because i live approx 2-3 miles from the exchange that my speeds will be slower, but those are dial up speeds, not broadband!!! I also feel it is unfair that people who have no use of broadband would be charged. Thats like asking people who have a salad at a resteraunt to fork out part of the bill for someone else's 15oz steak!!!
England on brink of historic breakthrough 12:50pm on 10 Sep 2009 Well i for one am wishing the ladies all the best this evening. I watched them 4 years ago when the championships were over here, and we were greatly outclassed. This time round they have acquitted themselves superbly and their qualities as a team have given them a deserved place in the final. With Kelly Smith driving them forward (the best british female player ever, and possibly one of the best in the world!) and the sturdiness of captain Faye White at the back,we have every chance of snatching the trophy from the Germans grasp. Good luck girls!!!

Capello unlocks Rooney gifts 1:11pm on 16 Oct 2008 I think Lampard is the man that has to go in midfield as i struggle to see what he brings to the England team. Some people say that the sign of a good player is that he goes unnoticed in a match - with Lampard though, its almost as if he isnt there at all!!!

Gerard is at his best when driving through the midfield, and i would prefer to see Hargreaves in the holding role instead of Barry. On the right, Walcott has a lot of talent, but is still way short of being the finished article. England would be better served by using the ageing (but still world class) Beckham to tire the opposition for 45-60 minutes, and then unleash Walcott when the fullback is not at full strength. On the left i am still puzzled by the omission of Ashley Young. This lad can actually use his left foot (unlike Joe Cole), is a good alternative to Beckham at set pieces, and the amount of assists he produces speak for themself. I imagine a player with Heskey's ability in the air would start to score many more goals.

The defending at times last night was diabolical! When the equaliser came, our defence looked like a junior school team, all crowded round the ball trying to get a touch!!! No one player was to blame, they all were!!!

On the plus side, the forward line were outstanding. I'll hold my hand up and say i wondered what the hell Heskey was doing back in the team a few games ago, but i'm very happy to have been proved wrong. His tirelessness in chasing everything, tracking back, holding the ball up etc. has been a breath of fresh air. It has allowed the ever improving Rooney to flourish and start to become the player we all hoped he would be.

Now, if we could just get Heskey scoring again..............
Monkey's journey begins 10:33am on 29 May 2008 I'm sure i'm not the first person to mention this, but does anyone else think the characters are just cartoon versions of the old tv program?

If the artist is trying to pass these off as an original idea then i'm not sure if he'll find himself in some sort of legal wrangle as the similarities between the characters in the tv show and the new BBC characters (caricatures at best!) are unmistakeable.
