Liverpool facing test of strength 11:35pm on 24 Oct 2008 I think that Liverpool have shown a lot of character in the league this season. Which has been wonderful to see.

My interpretation of consistency however is not re-running Istanbul on a weekly basis or consistently winning against 10 men.

IMHO the team needs to wise up and start dispatching lesser opposition with clinical efficiency. Thereby conserving BOTH physical and mental strength for the business end of the season. Otherwise we're going to simply burn out around March.

I'd settle for an assured performance against Chelsea less of the erratic Roy of the Rovers stuff and a solid defensive performance. If we can nick a goal and win it, that would be brilliant though.

We had another good win today (away at Everton without Masch!) and that's about all there is to say about it.

Phil (obvious anti-Liverpool bias) Mc Nulty, with all due respect, I find the above sentence to be somewhat ridiculous. Perhaps the very least that you could do is qualify it with a IMHO. Even if you did that, it's still rubbish. I could be wrong, but I wasn't aware that Ronaldo even played a musical instrument? I give up! Your blogs should come with a "switch your brain into neutral" warning!
Crouch deal proves Redknapp's quality 11:50pm on 08 Jul 2008 Normally I feel compelled to post comments on this blog in response to Phil Mc Nulty's very obvious anti-Liverpool bias (He's a total WUM IMHO).

Since Liverpool is not on the agenda here, I find myself in more mellow form. I loved what Rednapp said to Kanu prior to the FA cup final. It was something along the the lines:

"Do your magic King"

That's just simply brilliant.

These arguments are simplistic and skewed as usual.

What little Benitez has said on the matter is completely and utterly irrelevant.

Barry has publicly fallen out with his manager and wants to join Liverpool. This never happened with Carrick or Hargreaves. Responsibility for this lies squarely with MON.

Alonso is, like Fabregas, a member of the champions of Europe 2008 squad. A tournament that England didn't even qualify for. To use your simplistic logic then he must be worth more than the English equivalents Carrick and Hargreaves who are supposedly worth £18 million.

It's a shame England aren't here 00:13am on 22 Jun 2008 I'm Irish and I think that it is a shame that England aren't at Euro 2008.

However, when I see the team-spirit, technical ability, confidence and management of the teams that are there, then it doesn't surprise me greatly. Good luck in the qualifiers for World Cup 2010 though!

On a separate point, it's my opinion that the coverage of these championships by the BBC has been absolutely wretched (sorry to be negative!). Have you guys lost the plot completely? video inserts about Freud? I've really enjoyed ITV's approach and dread having to switch over every second game!
From Wigan to Wembley 2:03pm on 15 May 2008 I think that the F.A. cup has become a bit of an irrelevance really for big clubs competing at the business end of the champions league.
(with an emphasis on the business part)

Portsmouth have pointed the way for mid-tier clubs this season. Aim for 5th and a good run in F.A. cup.
