Cameron's Lisbon problem 7:48pm on 03 Oct 2009 Cameron has said that he will give the UK a vote on Europe IF the treaty is NOT in force by the time he comes into power.
That is a perfectly open and publicly stated position.
It stands to reason that having a vote on joining the EU is absolutely meaningless IF we are already members before Cameron takes power.
So Cameron needs to say what he would do if that situation occurs, but there is no reason why he should make that public now!
Don't blame the Conservatives for the position that the UK is in. Blame Labour and Gordon Brown for telling us that we can have a vote and then reneging on that promise.
Labour do not like democracy. That is why they have denied us this vote!
Is it right to bash the bankers? 11:35am on 28 Sep 2009 We don't need to bash the bankers. We simply need to define what people have to do to achieve to earn a bonus and make public the information on who earns bonuses and why they qualify.
Bonuses for senior staff should always be made public so that the correct tax is paid.
Bonuses should be frozen until the deals complete and the bonus recalculated if they are not as profitable as expected.
Does the way Brown is treated give you the blues? 08:12am on 28 Sep 2009 Gordon Brown has proved on almost every measure that he has failed to govern the UK.
How can New Labour fight an election based on what Cameron 'might do' when Brown has proved without dispute that he unable to govern the UK and has put us into recession and given us years of high taxes and reduced services to pay back the debts!

"It is with great sadness..." 09:02am on 17 Aug 2009 New Labour are justifying being in Afghanistan because the population are under threat from Islamic ‘terrorists’.
Does this mean that Brown want to invade every country in the world which is in a similar situation?
Or just those dominated by unpleasant regimes?
We should not be in Afghanistan! We only have a problem with terrorists because Blair and Bush went to war in Iraq!

No one except Brown has access to the real figures and the state of the economy.
It is good that the conservatives are not giving promises to spend money before they know the state of the economy.
It is the only intelligent approach!

How widespread is serious racism? 09:27am on 17 Jun 2009 Most of the racism in the UK now is the result of people trying to look after themselves.

The anti-discriminatory laws over the last 10 years have made the situation worse because people see 'rights' given to immigrants which they don't have themselves.

It is no difference to the left wingers who hate the rich Tories!

The downturn in the economy has exacerbated the situation now people are struggling financially and are not getting very much help from the government!
It's Friday 12:28pm on 22 May 2009 You should be highlighting the 'unofficial' system set up to increase the MP's salaries.
They could claim money without receipts using this 'unofficial' fund.
That is why many who submitted receipts claimed for such stupid items.
They were simply using this fund to improve their salaries.
There are many questions to be asked about this. Why did the government set this up? Does this bypass tax? Was this to deceive the electorate?

Why on earth did the government allow this system to be set up in the first place?

The issue on MPs expenses will get sorted out over time and it only affects them.
But the government in power is messing up this country big time, it is much more important to get replace then rather than focus on MPs expenses!!
DVLA update 7:46pm on 04 May 2009 Each person's computer record should show the full history of the person. It is inconceivable that the history is not available!
Do they really not record the date that one passes their driving test.
The software is clearly rubbish!! How much did it cost the taxpayer?

It is also clear that their attitude towards their customers is absolutely appalling.
To claim that they never make mistakes is egotistical nonsense.
To expect people to retake driving tests is appalling. People should sue for compensation.

Tories to break up banks? 6:02pm on 08 Apr 2009 I am not sure that the UK banks need to be smaller but I have become convinced that the banking system should not be allowed to have shareholders nor should it be allowed to make profits that do not stay in the bank.
It is crazy to have a banking system whose primary purpose would seem to be to get as much money out of the people of the UK as possible!
Shareholders should not be allowed to profit from banks who are forced to make huge profits which are then lost to the bank.
Nor of course should these obscene salaries and pensions be allowed.
Yes it might mean that the government has to be more involved in the way that the banks run, and be prepared to support banks who do not have huge reserves but that is what they are doing now!!
Banks should be helping the people and businesses of the UK, and not be seen as predators whose primary function is taking as much money as possible from ordinary people and businesses.
