Moyes & Everton face testing times 10:12am on 30 Nov 2009 Will probably be shot at for bringing up Liverpool by many on the blog "as we have been covered so much over the course of the season", but anyway here it goes....

Just read an interesting article from a Gooner saying that Liverpool's season is resembling that of Arsenal's last season and that many of the fans who were asking for Wenger's head have now looked back thinking how it was ridiculous to be doing so.

I just hope that this time next year, when Lucas and Ngog have had the benefit of a season of playing games and Aquilani finally gets to play some football, many of our fans asking for Rafa's head will have realized how wrong they were. Similar to how Bendtenr and Song were treated las year... look at them now. Song especially has become a pivotal player for the Gooners. A la Viera.

However bad our season, it is still not going to end up as bad as everyone is making it out to be. We will finish in the top four, we will get a good run in the Europa cup and we might very well end the season with some silver ware. We are turning a corner and it's not because we just got one win, albeit a lucky one against Everton, but finally because we are getting most of our squad back to fitness and bad luck can not run on forever.

We have to look at Benitez's tenure in the the past 4 years and not the past 4 months. He has an outstanding record and no one can take that away from him.... Fact.

Mr. Ferguson, as Rafa would call him, failed to mention that Evans should be facing a 6 match ban.... 3 for the kick on Drogba and another 3 for the trip on Carvalho. Instead he was let off with one yellow.

I think we have already seen a Lehman Brothers in the form of Leeds. Leeds was definitely there for the taking by a fan group, but it never materialized.

One club that you didn't mention is Ebbsfleet Utd in the Conference owned by the membership sharing scheme of myfootballcub.co.uk It seems they are facing major issues to stay afloat, as once the novelty wore off of "owning your own club" people just decided to not renew their memberships.

When the myfootballclub project was launched, it was around about the same time as when Leeds hit rock bottom. A lot of people buying memberships thought that myfootball club would try to buy out Leeds and were then utterly disappointed when the club turned out to be a conference side.

Although it looks like this particular venture seems to be heading for failure (a whole blog can be written on why), the concept itself can and will definitely work sometime in the future. It will just need somebody with enough business sense and the "balls" to make it happen.
Old Firm flight not so fanciful 09:07am on 11 Oct 2009 The Old Firm are having a laugh.... Do they really think that they are going to get into the big four and with it a place in the holy grail of the champions league within the next 20 years if ever.

Not only will they have to work their way through the Football League but then consolidate themselves within the most competitive league in the world as one of the big four.

Being "a big club" does not give you the birth right to be in the Champions League or The Premiership for that matter. Just ask Leeds, Newcastle, Notts Forrrest and all the other clubs with brilliant new stadiums and facilities. Saints fans you know who you are.

The Old Firm should count their blessings that they are guaranteed a kick at Europe every year. Instead of trying to get into the Premiership they should be looking at how they can heighten the Scottish League and make it more "profitable"
