Liverpool facing test of strength 12:53pm on 24 Oct 2008 I think saying out the title race based on our first loss away against a team undefeated in 4 years is a wee bit premature considering how many the mancs lost last year and still won.

We lost less but threw away points in games we are now winning this season.
Liverpool facing test of strength 12:46pm on 24 Oct 2008 Pretty good article their Phil, not always your biggest fan but this was nicely even handed. It's going to be really tough and I have an awful feeling Chelsea will win this, but I believe we have it in us to get at least a draw.

I think many Liverpool fans would agree when I say that even if we lose and even if we don't win the title this season we'd be happy with at least a title challenge.

Torres key to Liverpool hopes 11:28am on 28 Sep 2008 I think people are being far too harsh on Kuyt. Not many of you seem to realise that it was his presence in the box pulled the defender away from Torres. He never stops and this work rate whilst not always producing something in the final third harries the opposition into making mistakes often.

I'd have babel playing on the right for home games but Kuyt for away games that were tougher or more physical.

Oh and I love how Riera nicked the ball for the first goal and sent Keane on his way.

I'm a Liverpool fan so don't pay much attention to goings on outside the Premier League aside from looking at Southport (used to live), Brentford (my dad's team) and Plymouth (where I used to live and my family are now). I have to say that football played outside of the premier league strikes me as, like your article, as honest and much more true to the roots of the game. For me the Premier League is a world unto itself, and an ugly one at that...
