Robbo's England picks 11:26pm on 07 Sep 2009 rooney dived when arsenal's 49 match unbeaten run came to an end at Old Trafford. Clueless Mike Riley gave it, and we haven't recovered since.
Farewell Sir Bobby 8:22pm on 04 Aug 2009 nice blog Robbo - we all agree that Sir Bobby Robson was first and foremost a decent bloke.
Also we all know what a bunch of hypocrites the tabloids are. Can't believe the tributes they've been coming up with - don't remember much of that during his England tenure.

And final point, I agree with others that your comments on Adlington are cruel and uncalled for.
Would Sir Bobby have stooped that low ? I think we all know the answer.

As tiers go by 3:01pm on 06 May 2009 what's gone wrong with football in the north-east this year Robbo ?
I mean look at Sunderland too - for my money they look the worst of the three - luckily for them they have a few points more - but for how long ? The most certain bet of the year is that Ricky Sgrebia ( however you spell it ) will not be the Sunderland manager come September - the phrase out of his depth springs to mind.

The modern day Charlton i guess now is a Blackburn, or Bolton. I think Blackburn under Allardyce can look forward to mid-table mediocrity for years to come!

Scholes steers Man Utd towards title 10:54am on 24 Apr 2009 I think in fairness Scholes is not the key to the title - not in a million years. He is past his best, and a squad player these days. Yes he was very good, but now he's not good enough. The Scholes of today is not in the same class as the midfield maestro's of the other big 4 teams, Lampard, Gerrard and Fabregas. Even United fans must know that. I fully expect United to buy a top central midfielder this summer. This season the secret to United's success has been a top class defence and the brilliance of Rooney and Ronaldo in attack. The central midfield area is their weak link.

by the way speaking as an Arsenal fan, Fergie made a huge mistake when he bought Berbatov. There was nothing wrong with Tevez alongside Rooney and Ronaldo. That was an awesome front 3, perhaps the best ever! What does Fergie do, break it up with one of the laziest strikers in history. Shocking move by Fergie. I hope Wenger learns from this mistake and sells Adebayor this summer.......to Man Utd!
