How Chris Hoy's life turned upside down 10:20am on 31 Dec 2008 Giving awards to successful sports people who are role models to the next generation is no more devaluing of the awards, than it is when they are given to contributors of political parties and the legion of hangers-on that surround royalty.
Wallabies devour undercooked England 12:11pm on 16 Nov 2008 The final score flattered Australia. It was more a case of England losing the game than Australia winning it.

England gave away too many silly penalties that kept Australia in the game when England were on top and eventually pushed them ahead when English legs tired and heads started to drop.

The Aussie front row has improved significantly and Matt Giteau is a class 10/12 up there with the likes of Dan Carter.

Cipriani, by comparison, has yet to develop into the real deal. His kicking from hand, and off the deck is patchy and there seemed to be quite a large defensive hole between 10 and 12. Definitely not one of his better performances.
Who pays? 11:13am on 02 Sep 2008 When will Brown and his fellow fools realise that you can't SPEND your way out of economic hard times, you have to WORK your way out of them? All these measures will do is inject more inflation into the economy, which will result in more unemployment.

Clearly Brown is not content with having the worst economic situation in 60 years, but is aiming to have the worst one of all time. Yet another Labour Government will end in a huge financial mess.

When things looked very rosy not all that long ago, Brown was attributing it to the free market economy and his fiscal prudence. He seemed oblivious to the mountain of debt that was piling up.

Now the free market is handing us the other side of the coin and Brown is trying to play King Canute with these measures. His self-proclaimed record of fiscal prudence is in tatters and even the most blinkered can see him exposed as the clueless charlatan he really is.

These policies will only serve to exacerbate the situation at the taxpayers' expense and delay any real economic recovery as yet more debt has to be worked out of the system.
