Petitions in China 02:34am on 10 Apr 2009 In general, I agree that people’s grievance has to be heard. The government needs to set aside resources to handle properly those in Beijing with various allegations.

However, we can’t rule out the fact that these are very complex sets of peoples: some of them may well be “trouble makers”, voluntarily or involuntarily. Some cases need to be “thrown out of court”.

In the USA, with relative healthy legal system, if a case is closed, one is not supposedly to re-open a “re-litigation” for the same cause. A judge has the right to “throw a case out of court” as he may deem appropriate. The complaints of course can appeal to a higher level court. And the case would be heard only if the judge(s) considers that it has merits. Otherwise, it will not be heard. If the complaints try to force themselves into the court, they will be deemed as criminal and will be arrested.

We cannot use a simple description to depict those petitioners.

This is like a robber who robs you your property and gives you a fraction of the profit through running your property. And now the robber tells you: ”You should be thankful”.

To the robber, it sounds very generous. But to you, it is an insult.

More than that. Other distinct benefits for those items to be left in Westerners’ hand are:

1) It will repeatedly remind the Chinese, within China and overseas, of brutal pillage and crime conducted by Eight-Nation Alliance (Austria-Hungary, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States ) in China in 1800s.

2) Let the people of the world know that the nature of some of these people hasn’t been changed much since their ancestors: it remains that of greediness in 1800s.

You are wrong again! There are far more than 5 communist countries in today?s world.

For instance, USA is a communist country: monopoly is illegal; big banks are nationalized; primary schools are free? All these (total 10 points) are stated in The Manifesto of Communist Party by Karl Marx and Frederick Engels as characteristics of communism:

1. Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes. ?partially realized in USA

2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax. ? completely realized in USA

3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance. . ?partially realized in USA

4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels. . ? the latter is realized in USA

5. Centralization of credit in the banks of the state, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly. -- mostly realized in USA

6. Centralization of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the state. -- mostly realized in USA

7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state; the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan. -- some realized in USA

8. Equal obligation of all to work. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture. -- completely realized in USA (e.g. Affirmative Action)

9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of all the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the populace over the country. -- mostly realized in USA

10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc. -- completely realized in USA

Dare you say that USA is not a communist country?
